Wayne Allyn Root

Ha ha. No.

Wayne Allyn Root

I'm familiar with this dude's oeuvre.

He's a huge hit on the FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: circuit.

2012-10-09 01:00:23 PM
Just go ahead and point me to where I can bet on these odds.

2012-10-09 01:30:05 PM
Hmm,
First he leaves the Libertarian Party with an ulterior motive: Root says he will be running for US Senate as a Republican in the future.

Then he writes an article: Why This Ex-Libertarian is Voting Mitt Romney The article is full of retarded things like: "As a small businessman, home-school dad, Las Vegas oddsmaker, and political newcomer running for the Libertarian Presidential nomination in 2007, you couldn't find more of an anti-politician in all of politics."

Yes, it's those anti-politician people who are always running for office. STFU.

Even the right wing blog Little Green Footballs calls him a kook.

The best part though, after all is said and done, is a letter W.A.R. wrote that Snopes verified:
Neither Obama nor Romney are my horses in the race. I believe both Republicans and Democrats have destroyed the U.S. economy and brought us to the edge of economic disaster. My vote will go to Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson in November, whom I believe has the most fiscally conservative track record of any Governor in modern U.S. political history. Without the bold spending cuts of a Gary Johnson or Ron Paul, I don't believe it's possible to turnaround America.

A couple months later, he's in the Republican back pocket.

2012-10-09 02:00:09 PM
Libertarian.......he has little basis in pragmatic reasoning.

2012-10-09 02:00:20 PM
I'll take that bet.

violentsalvation: Just go ahead and point me to where I can bet on these odds.

This. Not willing to take action on the bet = just blowing smoke.

Money, mouth, co-located, etc.

BSABSVR: Wayne Allyn Root

Ha ha. No.

Vegas resident here. Wayne Allen Root is a bigger joke here than Sharon Angle and Oscar Goodman combined.

Nothing to see here, move along.

stpauler: Even the right wing blog Little Green Footballs calls him a kook.

To be fair to LGF, they were the only right-wing blog that I know of that didn't follow the rest of them off the Tea Party Cliff.

By today's standards, they're pretty sane (or "Flaming libby-lib RINO Commie-Nazis," for the Republicans out there).

He won't win in a landslide.

But if last week's debate was any sign, and how NOBODY (not enough people of consequence, anyway) has called him out on his flip-flopping, he'll probably JUST win.

I mean, come on. His polling numbers go UP after he did a 180 on a good number of his issues??? How can anyone trust anything he says?

2012-10-09 02:06:44 PM
Yet another libertarian who feverishly supports republicans and only attacks democrats. For all the things this guy is saying the most telling is that even he refuses to call himself a republican.

2012-10-09 02:07:01 PM
William hill has Obama at 1/3 and Romney at 7/4, down from 1/6 and 7/2 a week ago.

7/4 are pretty good odds for a guy you think is going to win in a "landslide". This guy could clean up.

2012-10-09 02:07:34 PM
Um...why have I been getting the impression recently that some Libertarians are two doors down from the wacky ward?

/been there
//not joking

Most people who are undecideds probably only ever got their information from campaign ads up until that debate so you wouldn't put any stock into them as accurate.

Especially considering he made a move to the left in order to win. And advocated positions that when Obama advocated them were called America destroying socialism.

People who support Romney don't support him because of what he stands for. They support him because he's not Obama.

He's not alone. Thems that incline that way usually say they are "independents."

If he's not taking action he's talking out of his ass.

2012-10-09 02:30:44 PM
Oddschecker seems to be running around 1/3 in favor of Obama.

2012-10-09 02:46:12 PM
I will make a bold prediction as well:

IF Romney wins, the United States will be at war with Iran within two years of his inauguration. This will trigger more unrest in the Middle East of course, causing an upsurge of violence and inevitable troop deployments in Afghanistan and possibly Iraq.

I mean really, what do you think Mitt wants that two trillion dollar increase in defense spending for? He isn't looking to show off our muscles, he is looking to flex them, use up a lot of equipment and then reward defense contractors with multi-billion dollar contracts for more equipment.

War is big business, and Mitt loves big business more than anything on the farking planet.

2012-10-09 03:04:02 PM
More ridiculous crap from former Libertarian Wayne Allyn Root. Guess 'ol Wayne realized that being a Libertarian doesn't pay nearly as much as being a batshiat-crazy Tea Party flunkie.

Note: as of today, Intrade is still giving Obama a 64% chance to win re-election.

I'm pretty sure this guy has a Fark account.

A couple months back someone posted he was a Vegas oddsmaker and was giving big odds on a Romney landslide. I asked where I could get that action. Alas, he never replied.

Here it is:

dinomyar: My gut instincts as a Vegas odds maker and common sense small businessman tell me this will be a historic landslide, and a world-class repudiation of Obama's radical and risky socialist agenda.
It's Reagan-Carter all over again....!

What odds are you offering and where can I get that action?

Because the frothing mouth idiots will vote R no matter what, and the more garden-variety idiots don't realize his story changes daily.

Most likely because you were talking to a troll who copied and pasted an article written by the moron, Wayne Allyn Root.

I'm going with Ron Paul at 300-1.

Oddschecker also seems to be following* Nate Silver (no idea if he doesn't just grab those numbers and run them).

* for values of checking about three times.

Oddsmakers don't care about what the actual outcome will be. They care that they can get the proper amount of action on each side of the bet. This allows them to take the losing bets, take their cut, and use what's left to pay the winning bets. If the line or odds are set right, it doesn't matter what the outcome is. They win either way.

That's sort of against the rules when you work at those places. You know, kinda like how referees and players aren't allowed to gamble on games they are participating.

Wayne Allyn Root is a capitalist evangelist and serial entrepreneur. He is a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee. He now serves as chairman of the Libertarian National Campaign Committee.

A capitalist evangelist....I thought libertarian meant legalize drugs, legalize prostitution, gay or straight are private matters. Also fark government regulations, because the market balances itself.

You can't attempt to spread the word of god through religious control and then call yourself libertarian.

/I am aware of Objectivist evangelicals.

Good things those Serial Entrepreneurs have ethics rules.

Wow, Obama is now 2/5 and Romney at 15/8. Wish I'd taken the 7/2 from last week but I thought it was lousy odds even then.
