Uncivil Engineer: WienerButt: A rep brought us chick fil a breakfast and they have the best breakfast of the fast food chains. Their eggs taste like fluffy, little clouds. Mcdonalds has that big breakfast which isn't bad, but its like 1500 calories O_o

A few Saturday Mornings a year I take all 5 kids to McDonalds for breakfast and let Mrs. Engineer sleep in. I get two big breakfasts, and feed them all. Then I let them burn off some energy and work out their immune systems by letting them play on the playplace.

//To be fair, the oldest is 9...

They sound fat.

Being from Canada I am always a little surprised when I try to order a McChicken in the states and they don't have one. Easily the best thing you can get from McD.

PallMall: GameSprocket: The Prosperity Burger looked pretty good. I miss the old cheddar melt they used to have once in a while.

The Prosperity burger says beef, but it looks like they use the McRib die to press it.

Oh. I thought it was a solid piece of steak. I should have known better.

A steak and onions sandwich sounds pretty good right now.

McDonald's in Costa Rica serves Fried Chicken.

McDonald's really is the shiattiest of the fast food places, though, in my opinion, obviously. I don't eat fast food burgers very often, when I do eat fast food, it's typically at places like Taco Bell or chicken joints like Zaxby's, or even a Sonny's BBQ if one is around. Unless I'm traveling and stuck in the boonies and McDonald's is the only choice off the interstate or something,, if I've got the option, I'd take Wendy's, Hardee's, Checker's, Sonic, or even Burger King over McDonald's. It goes without saying that if a place like Five Guy's is around, that would be first priority. I can't even tell you the last time I've went to a fast food burger place, though. Not to say I don't like them, I just never go. And it's not even to say McDonald's is wretchedly horrible, I just think it's lower class than other options.

You haven't tried one of my Texas Cheesesteak Sandwiches. I invented it to be in direct competition with Dirty Ronnies' McRib in calories and fat, but tastes better....

Recipe:
1 Hoagie Roll
Sliced Brisket
Grilled Onions
Pickles
Drizzle of Melted Velveeta/Rotel

ongbok: H31N0US: The Moroccan and Turkish looks damn tasty.

I guess I am really saying I should hit a halal cart for lunch. Or maybe Maoz.

Could you imagine the derp that would come from the right if they tried to introduce any of those here?

The derp is a constant roar. It will never stop. We might as well get some good food out of the deal.

MCDonald's should open up a "global store" that sells all of their menu items around the world. They probably couldn't afford to, but it would be so cool.

Or do a promotion for a week every month or every 3 three months, they sell one of their overseas items in the American stores.

oh okay. I can see maybe wendys, but burger king and taco bell both taste terrible to me haha. I haven't been to burger king in over a year after i tried their mushroom burger and there was seriously half a patty between the buns, and three mushrooms, and the sauce was disgusting.

How about a hamburger or cheeseburger before 10am?

How about the original apple pie (deep fried with molten-lava like apple goo inside)

I've gotten both in Germany....

Let's see... Best McDonald's meal I ever had was in Bretagne, France. (Yes. Yes I did go to McDonald's in France. Twice, if you count the quick Orangina run in Paris, but I was parched, we were on the go, and it was the fastest place to go on the Champs Elysees.) But, uh, anyway, I had a salad shaker. It was surprisingly good. And it had chunks real cheese in it. Good luck finding that at an American McDonald's.

This list is useless without the McFarm, a pork patty sandwich with a magical sauce available in Hungary and a few other jurisdictions. It's the best thing from McDonalds ever. Every time I go to Hungary I eat it. It sings little happy fat East European songs in your mouth...

I actually make a point to try the different McDonalds offerings in countries I visit. The burger with egg in Colombia was just nasty though.

The McFarm, though...mmmm.....

Still not going to McDonald's. It's too much of a symbol of everything wrong with the world.

* An example of a successful small business, grown to be prosperous.
* Inexpensive and readily available food.
* Entry level jobs for teens.
* millions annually in donations to various charitable organizations.
* business opportunity for entrepreneurs(franchisees).

Many years ago I remember driving through Ohio on the way home from Geauga Lake and stopping at a McDonald's on the Ohio Turnpike for a quick snack. I was expecting the same ole cheese burger combo and found they had fried chicken. Not chicken McNuggets but "real" fried chicken, so I ordered 4 fried chickens and some dry white toast. Oh yea, also a Pepsi, and they said no Pepsi, Coke!

They said it was a Mickey Dee's test restaurant, too bad it never caught on. It was darn good fried chicken and also offered mashed potatoes and gravy.

India: BigSpicy Paneer Wrap

This fast food take on a common Indian street food is both spicy and vegetarian, making it a hit at the 271 McDonald's locations in India. Made with breaded paneer, a type of South Asian cheese, the BigSpicy Paneer Wrap is one of many vegetarian McDonald's innovations, which have been so successful that the chain plans to open two all-vegetarian locations in India next year.

WTF? They just like keeping Americans fat?

In larger cities, they could open stores that are more relevant to the areas they're in. In Houston, we have areas of town which are primarily Asian, Middle Eastern, African, etc. Opening up relevant franchises in these areas would actually boost Dirty Ronnie's reach and popularity.

McDonald's in Hong Kong has real fried chicken on the menu. It's actually quite good. Crispy, juicy and satisfying - infinitely better than any of the fried chicken you can get in Britain, sadly.

The Asians aren't eating at McDonalds in Bellaire. The Arabs aren't eating at McDonalds in Sugarland. The "Africans" aren't eating at McDonalds anywhere, they are working there. I fail to see how this would be a success in Houston. We can only infer what you eat considering you are such a dick.

/Get off your high horse I run marathons and eat McNuggets every month or so. Chick-Fil-A nuggets and Wendy's has better nuggets, but McNuggets taste great in Hot Mustard, Barbecue Sauce or Honey. I cook food and regularly go out to restaurants. To say "McDonalds or Fast Food is below you" is stupid. That stuff is good. I get cravings for Taco Bell. Quality wise these places aren't the same as fine dining, but still really good and accessible.

McDonalds isn't that bad outside of America. In the U.S., too many people have trashy standards and wouldn't know good food, even good diners n' dives level grub, if it was stuffed into their mouths. McDonalds put a huge premium on slashing labor costs, going to the point where no position at a Mickey D's should require anything more than a minimum of training to do. The result is that in the U.S., McDonald's sucks major donkey balls. It's awful.

I worked in a Mickey D's as a teenager, and things behind the counter have changed dramatically since then. It's all deep fried or microwaved now. It's why I get roadtrip burgers just about anywhere else, because anywhere else means grills and broilers, not microwaves.

Were McDonald's so wretched abroad, the restaurants would close. People over there aren't trashy morons who will eat anything you put in front of them, so long as it's cheap. If you're Indonesian, McDonald's isn't that cheap, so you want value for your money. If you're European, you don't eat badly made garbage (well, unless you're British... and even they have good curry).

Now, that said, this article is a typical piece of FP crapola. The author clearly hasn't eaten even a quarter of his Top 10, nor does he travel enough to know that there are much better national or regional McDonald's sandwiches around the world. There are better ones even in some of the countries mentioned. FP sucks donkey ass.

Had a terriyaki burger called the shogun burger on a hong kong trip in the mid ninties. Could be 16 years of nostalgia kicking in but as I recall it was delicious.

I don't really eat too much fast food, but once in a while I just want salty and fatty and gross. Lots of places can fulfill that need, but the beauty of McDonald's is that they are everywhere.

McDonald's promotes un-healthy eating habits, and should be monitored. Since they can't police themselves, it's up to Washington to issue mandates.

There's no way that people could eat fast food every once in a while and still stay in shape. No way at all. It's great that you can look down on other people based on the food that they enjoy, though.

I cook things like langoustines with tomato basil sorbet, and bacon dashi with clams when I have nice dinner parties. My routine cooking (and I cook nearly every day) is filled with deliciousness and only rarely deep fried. I love good food more than most things, and no, I am not fat. But sometimes, after a few too many pints or a tiring journey home, there's nothing that tastes better to me than a juicy Big Mac with large fries and a large coke. Not everyone has to like it. It's my personal taste. But there is nothing inherently wrong with McDonald's if eaten on an occasional basis.

The "Africans" I'm talking about are the Nigerians and Ethiopians that Houston has some of the largest amounts of in the Western Hemisphere.. not the standard "African American."

And the reason the Asians don't eat as much McDonald's is because it doesn't serve things they're more accustomed to. And I mean the Asians not IN BELLAIRE, but off of Bellaire (outside of the Beltway) - in the "International" part of town.

The Arabs and Middle-Easterners are in higher numbers outside of the Beltway off of Westheimer.. toward Hwy 6 where all of those Halal and Mediterranean joints are.

The Vegetarian options you're choosing aren't good long term business investments because that fad will move on to somewhere else when those areas get overrun with crime and poor people again (like - at least the Heights - was back in the day).

Very good point.

When you go to a McDonald's take a look around you. You will find 300 pound slobs who can't even walk, under their own weight and they'll waddle up to the counter for their 5th Big Mac that day
