Okay, I'll be that guy.

It's "Harry S Truman". No period after the "S".

P.S. Way to keep it non-creepy. Seriously, is there any time that "father" and "daughter" can be used in a sentence and you folks not go completely "120 Days in Sodom"?

Well there is a female service member that might actually get some justice if she's raped by one of her fellow God Fearing America Loving servicemen. Her father would likely know the perpetrator.

ScottRiqui: jimmyjackfunk: ScottRiqui: She's an E-4, he's an E-8. A Petty Officer Third Class is junior to a First Class.

thanks. been a while. For some reason E-4 through E-6 I get confused when it comes to putting the name (ie Petty officer 1st class with the rank) but after that they seem to pretty much fall into place.

I'm in the Navy, so I have those sorted out. The ones that always get me are E-7 through E-9 for the Air Force. Those are "Master Sergeant", "Senior Master Sergeant", and "Chief Master Sergeant". The confusing thing is that the "Chief", "Master", and "Senior" are exactly backward compared to Navy E7-E9 ("Chief Petty Officer", "Senior Chief Petty Officer", and "Master Chief Petty Officer".

I did my time in the USN and gave up trying to figure out the dumb ass Sgt. rank designations.

Pretty cool story, I'll admit. Bet Mom is REALLY lonely now. :D

Mr_Fabulous: True Fact: There's no "." after the S in Harry S Truman. It's not an initial, it's his actual middle name.

Seriously.

Except that Truman's signature often included a period after the "S", and the ship uses the period in the name as well, so in the context of subby's headline, it's probably more correct to use it than to omit it.

GooberMcFly: Mr_Fabulous: [shakes tiny fist at Goober]

It's "GooberMcFly". No space between "Goober" and "McFly".

OK, now you're being "that guy".
