Calorie counts in restaurants usually encourage me to eat more because I overestimate calories.

Well as long as you aren't using that low calorie drink to justify getting more food than usual good on you. I normally get an iced tea when I have to resort to fast food.

Which is basically just a soda (HFCS and all) without the carbonation.

Depends. If it is sweet tea, then it is 99% sugar with some water in it. Unsweet tea isn't bad.

At a real restaurant I ask if the iced tea is brewed. Brewed = tea. Not brewed = sugar water. If it comes out of a drink dispenser (fast food) or bottle (pizza place refrigerator) I assume sugar water.

Sometimes a worried waiter will warn me that the iced tea is unsweetened.

Cherry Coke Zero is amazing and I don't care about the chemicals.

That is all.

Iced Tea; not Sweet tea. I kicked most sugar 2 years ago. If I want sweet I have Stevia (not for everyone for sure).
