I'm lukewarm on Moby. Good stuff to be sure but there's something missing.

I had the blues until I read the tag words:

"More: Cool, depressions, Son House, mules"

Awesome.

This is way of topic, but if there are blues fans about this may be the place to ask. 20ish odd years ago I heard a Rev Garry Davis song on Satuday Night Blues on CBC and have been looking for a recording of it ever since. I don't know what it's called, but the lyrics are something like...

(Chorus)
In his name
Jesus' name
I decided to go down in his name

If you want to receive your heavenly prize
get on your knees and be baptized
and be ready to go down in his name
(Chorus)
If you want to be holy and sanctified
you gotta mount god's chariot and begin to ride
and be ready to go down in his name

etc...
the second lines of those verses might be conflated or exchanged, it's been a long time.
I'm not religious, but love this half remembered song. The guitar work was great.
Help me internets! No amount of Googling has helped me find this song. I even resorted to trying Bing!

/ALSO, MONDAY BLUES SHOULD BE A THING

How long before Jack White steals that riff.

Jack White already did, and haters beware this is one of the best performances of all time. And yes everyone stole blues riffs, all the people that played the blues did. It is all about singing the same song but putting yourself in it. That is why some old guy singing and clapping his hands can be so good, its because he is singing the blues.
