Pretty simple, really. Just call him a big fat liar. Obama's response to anything Romney says should be "YOU ARE A LIAR."
Easy enough.

I've watched enough Looney Tunes to know that could backfire.

Romney: "47% of Americans are moochers living on the taxpayer's dime."
Obama: "YOU ARE A LIAR."
Romney: "Obama is trying to limit voting rights for military personnel.
Obama: "YOU ARE A LIAR."
Romney: "Obama kicks puppies!"
Obama: "YOU ARE A LIAR."
Romney: "Obama should be re-elected."
Obama: "YOU ARE A LIAR...oh crap."

NateGrey: spman: I love how when the National polls show an even race but the state polls skew Obama the libs are all like "Well the national poll doesn't matter, it's all about the electoral college anyways" but when the National polls show Obama with a lead while the state polls show a tie or even have Romney ahead, all of a sudden it's "Look, clearly the national tide is still on Obama's side". Ask Al Gore how well a tie in the national polls works out for you.

Citation? Who is saying these things? Eastwood is that you?

Who even cares what the national poll says?

Me personally, I hope Obama loses the popular vote and wins the electoral.

There's a really strong chance that happens, that's why we can ignore the popular vote national polls (which are pretty much tied and hurt our narrative) for the state polls that reflect the Electoral College (and show an advantage for Obama and help our narrative).

There's OVER a 2% chance Romney wins the popular vote and loses the Electoral college. So I agree the national popular vote polls are freaking meaningless, Obama has this in the bag.

The race has been over since Romney retroactively retired from Bain. Then it was over again when he refused to release his tax returns, when he went to Europe, and when his 47% video came out. It's been over so many times I'm surprised we're even bothering to have a vote. Don't people read Fark? If they did they'd know it's been over for like 2 years.

The conservative media is just making the election seem close because people would stop watching the news if it wasn't. No newspapers would be sold, the TV news programs would lose advertisers, and no one would visit their websites. After all no one reads the news during non-election years right? So obviously, unless the conservative media pretends the race is close they would go out of business. It is obvious when you think about it.

And don't even get me started on Obama's brilliant long term rope a dope debate strategy. Man, I could go on for ages about the strategery involved in tanking the first debate on purpose for the long game, because of the altitude and his anniversary, and to lure Romney into a false sense of security. Just brilliant political strategery.

As notable leftist socialist Newt Gingrich said in the primary, Romney is willing to say anything to get elected. You can't really debate someone who is going to say the opposite of what he's said on the campaign trail and even if you call him out on it will just deny he is contradicting himself.

I saw the Boobies-Obama debate ad, and they pretty much went with the obvious. To sum it up: "If you can't trust Romney during a debate, how can you trust him in the Oval Office?"

I think everyone would rather have seen the Boobies-Obama debate.

Charlotte Little: I have to admit, I hope he does. With that said, it really depresses me that this country is so stupid. Basically, our president is going to have to dumb it all down in order to resonate with a nation of Honey Boo Boos. Really, we should all be very depressed about this.

I caution (mildly) against using the broad-stroke stereotype that these rank-and-file right-wingers are "stupid"[*1]. They are simply trained in a language and culture that is (very) foreign. When you group up living that way, it's a hard thing to unlearn. I'd go so far as to say that, in many cases, they are even being rational: they correctly choose various cultural-self-preservation platforms, when presented with (what they see as) "invaders that will disrupt THEIR social standing"[*2]. They are just working form (wildly) wrong starting data.

In the long term, I suspect this will be fixed. The internet is helping. A lot. Real education, though, can't begin until we first agree on a language...

Let me clarify what I mean by stupid. I mean the folks I "grew up with," the very ones who are working from the wrong starting data. I started with that data too, but I'm smart. I don't mean to imply that I'm better than anyone else or that I look down on others. But I (as well as many, many like me) who grew up in the Bible Belt sucking off the tit of a Republican didn't buy the rhetoric. When I was a little girl, I was often described (with pride) as being smart. As I became a teenager and began forming and speaking my own views (ones that didn't involve putting others down for their race, sexual preference or religion), I was described (with disappointment) as being smart-assed. I left the south at age 20 and have never returned (except for the requisite visits). It depresses me when I visit to see how little it has changed. Same bible-yielding, fear-mongering, race-hating, controlling nutwingz are still the majority. I liken going home to wrapping a hot towel full of piss around my head. I simply can't breathe.

Sorry to be long winded, but let me give you an example of what I mean by stupid:

My sister has a serious illness that has forced her to live at home with my parents. She collects $800/month disability and has state covered insurance. She also earned two degrees and tried her hardest to work full time, then part time. She simply cannot. With the disability money, she pays $200 in rent (to my parents, who then just put it in a savings account for the future), $100 towards groceries/month, gas, $300 toward co-pays on medicine/doctors visits and the rest she budgets (and she has her own savings account). She does not drink or smoke or shop or any other money spending activity. She rarely, if ever, goes to a movie. She does, however, volunteer to read to illiterate adults twice/week and she goes to church once/week. Now, one could easily argue that she is one of the 47% moochers in this country. Knowing her and her illness, I know that, in fact, she has taken personal responsibility for her life and is doing the best she can. She's also incredibly smart and hates having to live in the south with all the racist bigots but she doesn't have a choice.

My father, whom I love dearly, is a staunch Republican nutwing. He believes every one of the conspiracy theories out there and honestly thinks that our president is trying to take over the country and turn us all into Muslims. No really, he believes it. This past July, when I tried having just one civilized conversation with him about Obama and voting him back in office given that my sister benefits from the kind of social programs that Democrats preserve, and without them, she's screwed (she would never be able to afford the medicines she needs and would end up unable to take care of herself at all), this was his reply pretty much verbatim.

"I didn't vote for that f****** n***** in the first place and I'm not voting for him in November. You should be ashamed to admit you're going to."

That right there is the stupid I am describing. It's all in my family, all over the south and, most disturbingly, in pockets all over this country.

In my opinion, these folks, including my father, choose to be stupid. They are not just broad stereotyped products of their environment, one that carries it's own, different language. If that were true, I wouldn't be here on this forum. I'd be speaking in tongues while holding an "I came unarmed (this time)..." sign at a pro Romney/Ryan rally in the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggly.

Who's saying they didn't matter at all? I think most people are taking issue with the chicken littles that are shiatting their pants saying the debate was the Mayan Apocalypse come early for Obama and that all hope is lost. And in my opinion THAT belief is based off the equally absurd belief that Obama was just going to go up there and beat on Romney until he begged for mercy.

Obama always has been an average debater at best. That fact is complicated when the guy you're 'debating' stands there, looks you in the eye and states the sky is green and he's going to create potato jobs by not potatoing taxes. You can practically see Obama say 'fark this shiat' about 20 minutes into the debate. Did Obama suck? Yep? Did Romney get a real bump in the polls? Yep. But given how poorly Romney's campaign has been doing for MONTHS Romney doing anything above crapping his pants was going to give his base hope. Fortunately the 18 months of campaigning, billion dollars in ads, the Obama ground game and better financial situation, and the recent jobs reports probably all have something to say about how much of a bump Romney gets and how long it lasts.

You described perfectly why we have such a poor foreign policy and a terrible economy. 0bama doesn't know how to deal with conflict and difficult situations.
