And an excellent concert as well. Although the one I went to did not include Cusack.

It's more than just So. It includes some stuff that's older, some stuff that's newer. Would go again. Best of his concerts that I've been to.

There's nothing obscure about Fast Times at Ridgemont High

I'd much rather an "Us" nostalgia tour. I've always thought that album was his best.

I'm holding out for, "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" tour. Ain't gonna happen, but I'm holding out for it anyway.

Mine either...saw him a couple weeks ago in Chicago. Was surprised that his voice was still very "Secret World Live" and the band was very cool to see after burning up that CD for the past 8 years or so...

It's a contraction. "Peter Gabriel is..." It's an informal use, but there's nothing incorrect about it.

I thought I read on another FARK thread that the boombox was actually playing a Fishbone song during the filming of that scene.

+1 to this. Easily one of the better concerts I've been to overall. For Gabriel himself, it's in the top two for my experience.

This. Glad to see he's still got the same band, although Paula's gone off to do her own thing (Where have all the coyboys gone). The stilted attempts to recreate the SWL dance moves were a little embarassing though

Am I the only person who thinks that the best thing he ever did was Up?

I saw him 10 years ago.Awesome concert. He belongs in Vegas.
A great showman,He got himself in a 8 foot balloon and jumped
up and down to the beat of the music.

Just saw the show, had front row seats. A truly great man, and great show. Go Tony!

2012-10-08 01:05:30 PM
The guy took the time to come to the concert and carry a boombox.

He couldn't put it above his head while they played "In Your Eyes" though?

What the F do I care to see John Cusack HANDING him a radio?!

/I don't care to see him hold it above his head while they played In Your Eyes, either. But it would have given the crowd a bigger thrill!

I was there Saturday night; great show. He played some older stuff, stuff I thought was dead and buried. No Self Control, Family Snapshot, The Family and the Fishing Net. I was hoping for On the Air and San Jacinto but no luck.

Easily one of the best concert albums ever.

Saw him in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. Great show, although not as imaginative a production as past tours.

The lighting on this clip with the cranes was just like when I saw him about 25 years ago at Poplar Creek, in the Chicago Suburbs. He's still got the touch.

The Los Santos concert was probably the best.

Be warned, he likes to spend his time preaching in support of evildoers who masquerade as philanthropists.

Saw his last tour. As always, he's the most incredible singer. It's just the parts in between the songs that made me wish I wasn't funding his inadvertent support of evil.

Thought "Don't Give Up" was still very impressive and it was nice to see "Biko" live. Still remember the Live Aid version sending chills up my spine...and it was almost the same. He was on my bucket list and its mostly complete now. Thanks Peter...

Saw him a few weeks ago in Boston. He split into three parts. First part was acoustic-ish, second part was more electric and heavy, and then they went through So in order (well, in order in the re-release, not in the original order, so In Your Eyes was the last one).

Awesome show. He was up there for well over 2 hours performing without missing a beat. Not much talking during the performance, which was fine with us.

David Sancious in his band? Very cool. I wish I had seen Springsteen early enough in his career to have caught Sancious with him. His playing on "New York City Serenade" still knocks me out.

It would be a far better tour if he pretended he never made another record after Security. So is/was a giant steaming pile of shiat.

I saw him in 1986 on the original "So" tour. He's very theatrical. It was a good show.

/Saw R.E.M. the next night. That was a good week.

Whoops...Amnesty in 86. I think it was actually broadcast on something called MTV.
