High end phones like a Galaxy S3 with the largest storage option retail for upwards of $900. You can often buy them for $100-$200 cheaper than MSRP not too long after they come out and if they're subsidized by a contract it comes down to $200 or so.

As for "Stupid", your comment makes no sense. If we were "living on the set of THX-1138", then it would be 1971, and DNA testing wouldn't even be a thing yet. If we were living in the world of THX-1138, then your little interjection wouldn't work, since my statement wasn't about some secret gov't database where everyone's DNA was on file to be called up at a moment's notice. My statement was that DNA testing seems pretty expensive to use to chase someone down for a sub-$150 hotel tab, but that, since it wasn't 10-15 years ago, when it really started being a regular police tool, rather than something used mostly in high profile cases, maybe it had come way down in price, and was now worth it even for low cost cases like this. In other words, speculating.

Either way, if you can't be productive to the conversation, maybe you shouldn't even join it, you just make yourself sound like a fool.
