What? My Huskers were drop-kicked out of the top 25? But they looked great against the Buckeyes after the first quarter ended last night.

...that game ended after one quarter, right?

Ugh...what is Michigan doing in the top 25 again? And who are the crackheads who gave Nebraska any votes at all? In fact, they just should have put out a top 20 this week because there aren't 25 teams worth ranking. Still, it's better than the coaches' poll: TCU and Iowa State both in the top 25? Yikes.

One thing to watch: CBSSports projects that there will only be 67 bowl-eligible teams. Sure, some of this guy's picks are retarded (I think La Tech is more likely to get a BCS at-large than Boise, for instance). But get excited for some 6-6 vs. 5-7 action in CFB's amazing postseason.

If they didn't overrate Clemson, how could they justify FSU's rating? Then NC State beat them so they could stop acting like the ACC had competent teams.

I'm sure I'm totally alone on this one but Iowa State probably deserves a little more credit for beating ranked TCU at TCU. But hey, we can't pass the opportunity to put a garbage 3-2 Michigan in the Top 25 now can we?

Agreed. I want to see rankings based on the team's performance this year alone, not on being a household name (like my Huskers). I'd put the Ohio Bobcats against anyone 16-25 on this list. But nope... gotta put a 3-2 Big Ten team (again - we're talking this year's Big Ten, not the brand) in over an undefeated team that will be a conference champion and, more than likely, earn a solid bowl victory. Because (cave man voice) MAC bad, Big Ten good.

AKTurkey: Huh, I never knew you could eat tattoos.

This bears repeating, especially combined with that alleged player tweet on Friday. I like Ohio State, but their program and culture might need some more significant outside scrutiny. Assigning a higher value to football than to everything else in the university is a good way to breed another Sandusky.

There is no way in hell LSU is a top 10 team as they are still in the coaches poll.
They are looking like at least a three loss regular season team with the schedule ahead and someone else could surprise them too since their offense is kind of terrible. They will have three losses minimum going into bowl season.

Overambitious, but if they can knock off Stanford and Oklahoma (and not go and somehow lose to BYU in between) they'll be in the top 5. The teams above them by virtue of playing one another are going to have to notch up losses, and somebody in the top 6 is going to get upset.

And say what you want about who they've played, fact is they're #2 in points per game allowed, the offense is suspect, but that defense is for real.

Go Irish.

The SEC has four top ten teams right now mostly because of reputation. Alabama should go unbeaten. They're schedule is rather weak compared to Florida, South Carolina or any team in the Pac 12 or Big 12. If Alabama loses to, say, Tennessee or MSU, then we should rightfully downgrade the conference.

I think this year the Pac 12 is the strongest conference. Stanford is going to end this Golden Goddess worship in South Bend on Saturday.

Just throw Clemson into the same lot as pretty much every other one-loss team in the country. You can pretty much rearrange every one-loss team in the top-25 and have a decent argument about it.

But, if Clemson is going to get penalized for losing by 10 at FSU, UGA should be nearly out of the top 25 for getting absolutely curb-stomped in Columbia.

We're still drawing 65-70,000 for most games, but you're right, the ACC is a complete joke. I'm mystified as to why FSU has stuck around. The ACC could not be more unwelcoming. Whether it's the weekly apologizing for terrible officiating against FSU, the constant Thursday night road games, or paltry tv contract, it's clear that FSU is expected to sit in the corner and STFU. That's fine, more power to them, but FSU needs to GTFO.

And yes, FSU is overrated even at #12.

He apparently found out yesterday, but the point still stands: we may have lost a big game, but anyone who eggs/rolls a player's house after a loss deserves sterilization.

It's amazing how much the collective psyche of a college town depends on how a group of 18-22 year old boys behave on Saturdays.

FLMountainMan: Billy Crystal Meth Lab: Billy Crystal Meth Lab: Apparently Aaron Murray's father was diagnosed with thyroid cancer hours before kickoff - working on finding a better source for it, but it's confirmed.

Couple this with the egging/rolling of his house in Athens and its enough to make you not want to live on this planet anymore.

Confirmed

I will never understand that, I was upset for maybe 15-30 mins then I was over it, then we went out to drink later and we were even better!

Verzio: I am hoping to see the regular season end with Ohio State as the only team from any AQ conference to be undefeated. With Penn State #2 in the Leaders.

And the #3 in the Leaders pulling off a miracle to win the Big Ten championship game, and going with its four (or perhaps more) losses to the Rose Bowl.

(Chortle, chortle, chortle.)

That would be some funny shiat, right there.

You can complain about Ohio not being ranked while Michigan is, but they do have a common opponent. Ohio struggled with a team Michigan beat by about 50.

I don't get it. The media has bought all into the hype of Notre Dame this, Notre Dame that. They're a fourth-rate team who has been lucky to not face any good teams. And yet ESPN thinks it's a good idea to send their show to South Bend? Don't encourage the bastards. ESPN ought just not broadcast the game Saturday - nobody would notice.

Having Stanford ranked below USC is asinine. This is one of many reasons the polls suck a loss early is not as significant as a loss late.

maxx2112: myusernameisariddle: when will alabama play someone?

They're still number one after failing to score against their inter-conference rival, Bye? I say toss 'em!

/ roll tide
// bama and carolina to battle it to see which faces oregon
/// book it, done

Probably, which is why I'm done watching college football.

Why, because you don't agree with it? I thought it was hilarious, maybe it'll light something under those idiots a$$es. Probably be just a joint though, so not gonna help them win any games of consequence.

I would laugh so hard but I'd settle for winning "The Michigan Bowl". Also there is no way in hell the Bucks are a top 10 team. Programs on probation shouldn't be ranked in ANY poll but the AP voters are seriously high on something if they think tOSU is the 8th best team in the country! Glad to see (regular)OSU getting some love though.

Beavers QB Mannion is out for the season. It's going to be a lot tougher to go undefeated now.

I was aware. Didn't expect them to go undefeated anywyay. Just glad to see them get some recognition for their excellent season thus far.
