some_beer_drinker: Clarinch: I came back from college to hang out with my dad for an afternoon. I brought a 6 pack of Yuengling. He said "Why did you buy Chinese beer?"

IS IT NOT?

I've always called Yuengling "Hong Kong Phooey."

Yuengling Lager is OK. It is probably the cheapest beer I will buy. But that is when I only feel like spending $20 on a case.

Their octoberfest is not very good either but their black and tan is awesome. Their Porter is pretty good as well but there are plenty of better ones out there.

I should have bought that instead of deciding to try Magic Hat's Hex seasonal........ Not sure where they were going with Hex but it is farking gross

Dwight_Yeast: "Yuengling, now the largest American-owned brewer, says it likely won't build its next brewery in Pennsylvania for business reasons"

In other words, the Yuengling family wants some sweet tax breaks and concessions from the state to build here got tired of dicking around with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

I know everyone thinks they're supposed to like Yuengling. It's really not that great though.

i won't insult you personally, but your statement is just so far off reality i must question both your taste buds and your sanity. good day to you sir.

fark Yuengling. The owner is a union-busting choad. And to be honest, people only drink it 'cause its cheap and local, and here in S.E. PA we have a lot better options than that farking garbage.

speakandgo: ah Yuengling. Not great, not offensive either. It just is. A nice safe brew to bring to a backyard cook out you have been invited to. It was what I used to open my father's eyes to other drinking/trying other beers besides coors/bud etc. I consider it the 'gateway drug' of beers.

This is EXACTLY how I feel about Yuengling Lager. I cannot stand the taste of Bud or Miller. Yuengling is a good thirst- quencher, and it's something that most people will drink, so that's what I get when I'm having people over who I know aren't craft beer fans like me, or who I don't really know that well. It doesn't taste bad like Bud does. It is "drinkable." but it's not "remarkable."

Some unions need to be busted.

Some need to be strengthened.

But when a union starts causing the company to lose a profit, it has outgrown its purpose.

I hated it at first because when it first came to Ohio, it was around the same price as Magic Hat or Goose Island at the grocery store so I was expecting much better. Later they dropped the price down to Budweiser prices and I became much more open to it. Better than Bud, but not by enough to cost more.

I like Yuengling. First found it years ago and was happy when I could get it in TN and OH. It's cheap, decent and doesn't give me a headache like Bud, Miller or PBR. Plus the Black and Tan is really good.

I like Yuengling and used to buy it on the oft chance that I was out of state and saw it; the problem I've had is that half the damn time I bought it, it was skunked. Not sure if I'm unlucky or if nobody buys it.

/Since given up buying it  and drink homemade beer/wine

Yuengling: "Hard to find in some places, so you know it's good."

/overpriced for suckers

Yuengling has Tampa covered.

I thought there was already a facility in Tampa, which the last time I checked was outside Pennsylvania.

TofuTheAlmighty: pnhfitz: Just get it to Missouri

Basically everything from Schlafly, 4 Hands, Perennial, & Six Row are better than Yuengling. St. Louis suffers from an embarrassment of wealth when it comes to craft brewers.

Yuengling - the second most overrated beer in the world. (The first being Guinness obviously.)

It has been amazing to watch all the craft brewing explode here in St. Louis over the last decade. That being said I also wouldn't mind Yuengling here: I'm getting tired of having to always haul a few cases back every time I go back east.

Are you buying cans or bottles? I've found it tastes better in cans and for whatever reason I've always had a real iffy experience with bottles.

Don't they use really light-colored bottles? That can make it more likely to go skunky.

If the employees are happy and enjoy their job, wtf do you need a union for?

I always buy Yuengling in cans. The green bottles get skunked too easily.

Yuengling is a good, cheap beer. Sure, there are plenty of better options, but none better in the same price range.

Big "if's" there. Plus, PA being a "right to work" state means, fark YOU! You can be fired at will, no reason need be given. PA NEEDS unions because businessmen prove daily that they only care about enriching themselves.

So fark yuengling and their shiatty, pre-skunked swill and their greedy assface of an owner.

I've always worked in At-Will states. You make it sound scary, it isn't. It allows managers to get rid of employees that are trying to screw over the company.

Eh, they have a few beers that aren't bad but I generally prefer River Horse or Weyerbacher if I'm staying local.

You can tell Yuengling has gotten popular because all of a sudden Fark hates it.

It's a solid beer that doesn't try to put itself in the microbrew league. I enjoy it when I'm trying to be cheaper-buying for a party.

I do agree with whomever said Weyerbacher was awesome. So are Yards and Victory.

Its a well known fact that the employees at Yuengling are treated very well. But hey, tow the party line, dumbass.

I bout a six of Victory once, can't remember which one. It was so skunky and disgusting, I poured out 5 of them.
Now, Revolution "Anti-Hero" and Southern Tier "2XIPA"...MMMMMMMMM!!!!!
