Tanqueray: DC is easily the most transient city in the country - full of journeyman lawyers getting their start. OF COURSE that makes it a lousy sports town. Wilbon had nothing to apologize for except expressing an honest evaluation to some homers who can't handle it.

Anybody who remembers John Madden calling playoff games in January at RFK stadium saying "Wow, this stadium is ROCKING," and meaning that the stadium was literally shaking up and down because of the intensity of the fans, knows that you're full of shiat. That is all. DC has been laid low by shiatty teams. We're back. Wilbon can EABOD and die.

Triumph: All these federal government snobs buy the boxes and then don't use them.

Um, you're clearly an idiot. Nobody in the government makes real money, at least not for this area. If you work for the federal government, you're not buying a luxury box. Sorry, ain't happening. Link Link

Triumph: Oh yeah, the team sucks and has the worst owner in the league and he's young and not going anywhere in your lifetime. Other than that, there's lots of upside to being a Skins fan.

We got RGIII, and a real GM. The Cowboys have Tony Romo and Jerry Jones as a GM. You smell like a Cowboys fan, Or even worse, a Ravens fan.

Went to a Ravens@Redskins night game several years ago and the luxury box level was almost completely empty - a yellow stripe around the middle of the stadium. All these federal government snobs buy the boxes and then don't use them. Plus, walking in from the parking lot you could never tell what team plays there - just FedEX and other corporate advertising everywhere. The stadium is so crappily constructed, if the Redskins ever actually got a crammed rocking crowd, it might crumble apart. And Dan Snyder made the parking situation a complete nightmare with one way in and out. On top of that, the team name is utterly racist and will definitely be changed at some point in the future and the team colors are the exact same colors as McDonald's. Oh yeah, the team sucks and has the worst owner in the league and he's young and not going anywhere in your lifetime. Other than that, there's lots of upside to being a Skins fan.

steamingpile: Tell Me How My Blog Tastes: We got RGIII, and a real GM. The Cowboys have Tony Romo and Jerry Jones as a GM.

I will give you the advantage of GM but Romo's biggest problem is the fact his surrounding team sucks, when Dez Bryant is your star receiver you have serious issues since hes been horrible for years now.

LucklessWonder: The Nationals look like a legit division contender for a few years with their rotation.

I still dont get this, you have a few pitchers on their team that are having career years but are usually average or worse, its not like they got suddenly better in one year, most will revert back to their suckiness in a year or so, maybe sooner since inexperience and pressure gets to guys in the playoffs.

Er, who would that be?

Zimmermann, Gio, and Strasberg are all legit top end pitchers. Edwin Jackson overachieved some, sure. Clippard's been lights out in the pen for a while now and Storen looks like he will be for a long time.

Then their lineup is for the most part very young. I'll totally agree that Adam Laroche probably doesn't repeat this season.

But for the most part, the rest of the NL East should be worried. Which kinda sucks.

The Cranky Redskins Fan's Guide to Dan Snyder

/That's your local media's take chief.

What part of "we got a real GM" don't you understand? Since Bruce Allen took over, little Danny's personnel butfarkery hasn't taken place. You're stuck in the Vinny Ceratto era, bro. That McNabb "deal" your link talks about ignores the fact that it was voidable, for reasonable money, after 1 year if the team didn't want McNabb back. Um, he sucked, and it didn't kill us to get rid of him. I'm sorry we gave up that 1 second round pick, but that's life. I"m sure you'll throw out the RGIII trade as evidence that nothing has changed, but guess what: that worked, and it was worth it.

That's evidence that adults, specifically GM Bruce Allen, are in charge and making the decisions. Which exactly what the "article" claims to see no evidence of. Look: Danny being Danny sucks. But it looks to everybody with a head on their shoulders that those days are over, and we're done making cap-killing deals. Soooo.... what was your point again? Oh yeah. You don't have one.

//And you're not my bro.

The Gordie Howe Hat Trick: Deadspin has this hateful boner for Wilbon. Very weird.

I kinda like Wilbon's schtick, but don't really care.
