This! A thousand times this! Trickle down economics have never worked. George H.W. Bush was right when he called it voodoo economics. It is better to invest in the middle class then hand everything to the wealthy. They tend to just keep it and do not put it back into the economy.

Trickle down was a failed economic policy way back when Alexander Farking Hamilton proposed it and it has failed every time the idiot Republicans have tried it since.

It needs to go the way of the dodo.

Ok, spelling errors. Yeah, basically the point. Mitt wants to help keep a tax cut for a group he just happens to be a part of. What a coincidence.

People need to bake the farkers chocolate chip cookies. Who's with me on this one? I know I also happen to be a farker, but, y'know it just a sound and moral policy, not because I might benefit from it.

I remember them days. Voodoo economics was the very term that almost turned me Republican. I was somewhat taken with Bush as an alternative to Reagan in the primaries but by the time I could vote on the matter Bush was playing second fiddle.

I heart this video. I really do. I wish that guy had been there at the debates. I wish that guy had a backbone. I wish that guy were standing up and truly leading this country.

I also wish that guy would take the Teatards in the House and opportunist Dems in the Senate to task for intentionally sinking this ship.

Such great oratory skills, except where it really counts. SHAME THEM. PUBLICLY. Stop being such a goddamn diplomat with people you know are not negotiating in good faith!

I'm a goddamn conservative, and I so badly WANT Obama to succeed spectacularly because I want the forces who have taken control of this country to be broken off at the knees. "Candidate Obama" felt like the man to do that. The Obama of this speech sounds like the man to do that. FARKING DO IT ALREADY! Drink your evening nightcap from Romney's hollowed-out skull! Expose every congresscritter who stands in the way for their duplicity.

A BRILLIANT talking point. If only that was really what Democrats wanted to do. Sadly, you're only as bright as the bumper stickers you quote since it is almost always Republicans who rev up gov't spending. The only difference is that they do it on borrowed money and then blame the next guy in line (usually a Democrat hired to clean up the mess) for the mess.

He said it when he was running against his later boss, Reagan, in the Republican primaries in 1980. Then, like any other craven asshole GOPer, once he caught wind of what a scam for enriching white folks it was, he ran with it, too.

So, yeah, there was a brief moment of honesty from the Bush family, but it was only because he was trying to win the Presidency.

the whole thing is a sham. we the great unwashed don't even pick who sits on the throne. and we all know how politicians can be trusted to live up to their campaign promises. its all smoke and mirrors, a dog & pony show that uncle sam uses to show planet earth why the suits of WashDC loves to kill brown people all over the planet. we tell them its for the sake of democracy, of industry (U.S. Industry), of a better life for their people. but its just so Daddy Warbucks families make more money while other wealthy families get access to the raw materials they need to produce & sell things we don't need.

it's all a sham. you've been Hoodwinked, baby.

Everyone keeps talking about Romney "winning" the debate, and I don't disagree that he showed a stronger performance, but is that necessarily a bad thing for Obama?

How much would we be talking about Romney's outright falsehoods, his bad math, his economic theories, and, above all, killing Big Bird, if Obama had wiped the floor with him?

I think allowing Romney's presentation of his ideas to be the forefront of the debate was not necessarily a bad thing as far as Obama's reelection chances are concerned. As people begin to examine exactly what Romney actually said, rather than just his delivery, he'll possibly fall flat on his face.

I have had people say this to me, nearly verbatim.

Wonder where it originated? Which pundit started this line?

Romney hasn't run a business. He ran an investment group - a kaffee klatch for people with loads of cash. Running a business involves spending the day-to-day trying to find ways to keep said business running forever. This does not include the "Harvest Investment" scheme. He's a Vulture Capitalist, not a businessman.

Bush I wasn't really a bad President, but he was tainted by his participation in the underhanded parts of Reagan's administration, mainly because as a former CIA director, he already had the inside scoop as to the dirty things our government does sometimes when some people in power believe the ends justify the means.

He also went back on his promise of "no new taxes". I'm not saying he shouldn't have raised taxes, I'm saying he should have never promised not to.

Debates aren't about facts or laying out ideas. Debates are about winning hearts and minds. A debate is won" or "lost" based on who had the greatest impact at the time. Obama lost. He lost in a way that I had never expected. He lost by being the only adult in the room.

Bombast wins debates.

The US isn't really a business and even if it was, Romney isn't really a CEO. He's a buyout specialist.

He also is a lawyer.

I could be wrong about this, but it seemed to me that Ben Stein "doubled down" on the conservatism after 9/11. He was always a Republican, but not exactly a hardcore, uncompromising, Democrats-are-the-debbil kind of guy. Kind of like how Dennis Miller went cuckoo.

<rant>Jesus effing christ on a pogo stick, what is wrong with you people? Are you incapable of farking seeing that the world is not black and white? How goddamn blind do you have to be to not see that there's an entire damn universe between Randroid-style corporate feudalism and Stalinism? I've frankly given up trying to help people who "think" like this. The best course is to sideline them, shut them out and keep them from doing any more damage. God only knows, it'll take long enough to repair the damage from 30 years of trickle-down BS without any teabaggers deliberately trying to sabotage the affair.</rant>

Romney's "business model" isn't business, it's cashing out the value of businesses and workers and sending it overseas. That ain't business, it's theft. Pray tell, what added value did any of Bain Capital's activities create?
