These people have gone completely insane.
Everything is about what they "heard", which has nothing to do with reality.
Birthers
Secret Muslimers
Truthers
Dittoheads

In the end, everything that Obama does can not be a lie. Statistically that is just impossible.
So, did he REALLY kill Obama??? Or do they have him locked up in secret somewhere ????

This whole Job Truthers thing is a new level of retarded. Seriously, if the numbers were faked, do you think the job growth would be so small?

Heh. But seriously, the numbers were in line with expectations. So not only did the WH manipulate the numbers, but they manipulated dozens of economists, many of them Republicans owned by the Koch group. A conspiracy of massive proportions.

Everyone knows that the Government makes them say that. It's not as if the people who disagree are being paid to say that.

Seriously, I hate it when people deny facts and evidence, just because it contradicts what they want to be true.

I'm lucky enough to have a job where I can sleep, but yeah, my lawn is a mess this year. I do like going to work 24 hours at a time. That's between 2 jobs btw.

2012-10-06 05:08:42 PM
As was alluded to in TFA, if the BLS had the capacity to fake the numbers to make Obama look good, why didn't they drop the number to, say, 6% two years ago?

2012-10-06 05:21:46 PM
No. The economy is in a shambles and Obama's entire first term has been a complete and utter failure.

This is the Republican's reality. No fact, extrapolation of fact, or theorem can sway them from this reality. At this point there is no use in even trying anymore.

2012-10-06 05:30:33 PM
It's the absolute denial of any aspect empirical reality that is the scariest thing about the modern-day Republican Party. They don't have to believe any single thing they see in front of them. How do you counter that? In a sense we saw that in the debate. Romney could spew any lie he wanted to and neither the debate moderator or his opponent was willing to call him on it. It's so depressing.

Hey, you'd be paranoid too if the media, the pollsters AND the jobs report were all in the tank for Obama.

Yup. I made the mistake of getting into it with an idiot I went to HS with on Facebook who derped about REAL unemployment being 14+% when "discouraged workers" were taken into account. I gently pointed out the difference between the U3, U4 and U6 numbers.

His reply? "You proved nothing. I'm living it."

2012-10-06 06:11:12 PM
No, we just know BS when we see it and we also know that real unemployment is 11%.

We also predicted that right about this time no matter what kind of numbers had to be fudged, the unemployment figure would magically drop to whatever Obama needed. The fact that it came just two days after he got smashed in that debate is not a coincidence either.

2012-10-06 06:11:26 PM

Usually the GOP is creaming their pants over the BLS numbers. Just look at last month when the BLS numbers were less than expected.

But the one time it doesn't agree with their agenda, the obvious answer is because the books are cooked.

2012-10-06 06:16:03 PM
The most disgusting part of the GOP delusion is this:

The Republicans (not all, admittedly) actually want the country to do poorly. They want people to be unemployed, to suffer, to be miserable, just so that they can put their clown into the oval office. Rather than be happy that the country that they love so very, very much is doing well, they'd rather good people suffer for the sake of their own political gain. I keep thinking there is no new low to sink to, but the GOP continues to astound.

2012-10-06 06:16:30 PM
Well, it won't be until next month that the figures will reflect all the muppets on Sesame Street who were laid off.

I think they've been using that 'no president was ever re-elected with unemployment 8 or above' and it became gospel. They invested so much in that talking point that 7.8 blew it out of the water when, really, they could easily still complain about the lack of progress on unemployment. The 'sane' members of the GOP are doing exactly that, but they are clearly the minority these days. The majority is going with the cooked books thing. Pretty sad really. Suggesting that Obama's policies have not sufficiently turned around the economy would probably carry more weight with the undecided and non-crazy.

Yep.

I gotta admit it's kinda fun watching them desperately try to spin those numbers.

Especially with Romney's stupid talking point yesterday that it should really be 11% because we should use 2008 numbers for some reason.

Citation needed.

Right wingers SUCK at predictions.

In fairness though, you are quite good at retroactive predictions.

2012-10-06 06:28:21 PM
On this day in 2004, Bush was down to a 1.8% lead in the polls, compared to a 6% lead just before the first debate.

Romney has yet to lead in an average of polls (although I'm sure he will soon), but Kerry led for three distinct stretches of time in 2004.

This too may pass.

I paraphrased but that's what I gathered from this statement:

"The reason it's come down this year is primarily due to the fact that more and more people have just stopped looking for work," Mr. Romney said. "The truth is, if the same share of people were participating in the work force today as on the day the president got elected, our unemployment rate would be around 11 percent."
