Alas, the movie itself is a a very depressing doc.
It must be draining for sensible Americans to be continuously fighting the creatards.

AlanSmithee: It must be draining for sensible Americans to be continuously fighting the creatards.

Very.

Especially when it's someone you knew your whole life - you grew up beside this person, you shared their meals, you slept over at their house, you played endless rounds of Goldeneye on their N64 - but you went away to college for 4 short years and when you came back, they seem to have been swapped out by someone who has no concept of logic or rationality. You try to keep being friends, but they're suddenly sending you nonstop crap about 0bummer, UN plots to destroy Israel, and whatever other insanities of the day are being cooked up over at Breitbart.

These aren't crazy morons met on Fark - these are people you know. And yet. And yet...

No. Looks like an interesting movie, though.

I don't know if I'll watch the movie, but I like the poster. It just seems like every time I watch a documentary, I sorta want to kill myself later.
The Way We Get By ripped my freaking heart out and Jesus Camp made me ashamed to be a human.

Yes, that poster made me smile.

As far as the topic, this is not new news for anyone that has been paying attention. That no one is doing anything about it is shocking. Anyone with kids getting educated in America should be all over this, how can you do this to your kids?

Would have been better without the Michael Moore quote. Might have even suckered in a few people who thought "Finally, a movie that shows how creation is stronger than science and politics."

Instead, Creationists will see Moore's name and know to stay away.

No, it is not.

the head of the texas state board of education should be jailed for child abuse for poisoning the minds of the nation's children and hobbling their chances to compete with the rest of the world.

the fact that the christian taliban is in control of the education of our children should terrify anyone with a brain. if bullshiat like this is taught in our schools, we will be a third-world country in just a few generations.

You're assuming that creationists can read.

Anyone got another link?

It's downright farkin scary that people are trying to shape education for the purposes of getting generations to vote like them.

Let's see, is it more probable...

that the anti-evolution goal is to correct a basic oversight in the scientific method

or to fight any scientific claim that butts heads with companies that could lose profits if public opinion was against them?

Scientists are flawed:

Biologists are wrong which could mean
Environmentalists are then misguided,
Verification with carbon isotopes cannot be true
Evolution doesn't exist
The strata of the rocks do not represent time
See, how companies could benefit from that if you gave it all up?

I'm all over the sentiment of that jpg. But it's kinda misleading to use a picture of him from the 70's and a quote from a book published in 1995.

It is happening now, it was already beginning to happen when he wrote it.

If his faculties are insufficient to figure out that much, I doubt the film will have much of an effect on him.

CSB:

My mother was so disgusted she ran for Texas State Board of Education in 2010. She got a lot of support from Fark, but unfortunately she got her butt kicked, thanks to the TEA party surge in 2010. She's technically running again, but her time and money are caught up in the lawsuit that David Barton (the Wallbuilders douche who just had his book pulled from shelves for being too derpy) brought against her for telling the truth about him in a campaign commercial.

I know you think you're being snarky, but trust me, if they thought they could change the laws of ballistics like they can change the teaching of evolution, the GOP would be all over Smooth Bore Ballistics and deride Rifling as a mere theory.
