Not bad.

Funny.

At the risk of sounding out of touch, who's the guy playing the moderator?

For what quality Autotune has taken from music, surely it has given as much to our comedy.

The more I think about this position the less I agree with it. Obama was responding in real time to carefully prepared and rehearsed positions and statements that no one had ever heard before. Romney sounded excited to be there, but he would not answer questions and shiat all over the moderator. To you, this probably is winning a debate, so I'm not surprised you're bringing it up.

That's why I was asking. I recognized him from "bed intruder". I see he and a bunch of them Autotune The News. Pretty funny stuff.

We're sorry that Romney did not react like the person Obama imagined him to be.

Deep thoughts.

I haven't gotten a chance to watch the full debates. Just clips from the BBC, and this video. But based on this video I'm wondering if the people at the BBC have a twisted sense of humor, because the clips they showed were of Romney looking like he was on meth, and Obama calm and presidential, but stumbling with his words a bit.

Does anyone have a link to the full debate? I feel like I should watch the whole thing. Because on the face of it, it seems absurd to me that pretty much all media outlets are saying that Romney "won", when basically all he did was lie. Twenty-seven lies in 38 minutes, by some counts.

I honestly don't see how that can be considered a win.

Still, it's interesting. I don't have many friends who post political things on Facebook (and that's about all I have to go on since I'm currently living in Australia) but the main takeaway that I've seen so far is that Romney is a massive dick who wants to kill big bird.

I got stopped on the street by a guy with the local Fox affiliate asking if after the debate performance did Obama really want a second term. I was too stunned by the question to ask "What kind of stupid question is that?"

Obama was told he would be debating Mitt Romney and his platform. Instead, he had to debate this other guy that showed up and it really threw Obama for a loop.

actually, FWIW after the debate I kind of found myself wondering if maybe that day Obama was just tired of it all. I think he believed a lot of his own press about reforming Washington and creating a new era of bipartisanship when he went into office. I am not saying that the fact that it didn't happen is his fault, but he thought the recession would have healed quicker, more people would like his health care law and the political parties would have joined in creating a newer better place for America.

And yeah, I kind of found myself thinking that maybe for a little while as he was asked to debate and answer for the things that had happened, maybe he did kind of wonder if putting himself through another 4 years was worth it.

Another thing. Anything clever you said wouldn't have made in on air. If you ever get another opportunity like that again, give them them the answer they want while sliding your middle finger up the bridge of you nose as if you pushing up a real or phantom pair of eye glasses. If they ask you your name, say "Heywood Jablowme".

One of the rumours floating around is that he had sex with his wife before the debate and that's why he was a little sleepy/out of sorts. It was his 20th anniversary and all and the guy's busy so this seems at least a little plausible to me.

Yep, that other guy seemed to know nothing about Romney's platform. I can understand why the president was thorn off. No one really expects another person to lie that much - and with such conviction - about everything they're on record as saying. And then, to have that bold-faced liar turn around and accuse YOU of having "your own facts," a line he stole from your convention. Yep, that threw Obama off. If he had turned to Mitt and said, "The only time you've told the truth tonight is when you said your name. And you only get half a point for that because your real name is Willard," people would have said Obama was stooping to Mitt's level.

There's a reason they have a moderator at these events.

Romney won on style, Obama won on substance. But the debates haven't been about substance since Nixon-Kennedy.

But yeah, he totally won.

Seriously, even the leftest of the left know he got his ass handed to him.
