knoxvelour: this never would have happened before 9/11
UncleStumpy: I remember a day not that long ago that required both sides of the story before it was published
Corvus: knoxvelour: this never would have happened before 9/11Because sept. 11 CHANGED EVERYTHING!!!
Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: Also, I find it doubtful that they would fire him just for alerting them about savety concerns
fusillade762: Sounds like the complaint about bacteria in the water should be easy enough to test.
cftc: Someone explain to me why this place has security tighter than an airport? Are The Terrorists (TM) going to come back and blow up the memorial? Well, not the memorial grounds, but past the entry and inside the memorial I guess. This kind of thinking on security is stupid on so many levels. But hey, I guess someone's security company has to get paid!
bittermang: Corvus: knoxvelour: this never would have happened before 9/11Because sept. 11 CHANGED EVERYTHING!!!But it literally wouldn't have happened. There would be no memorial.
Mr. Right: fusillade762: Sounds like the complaint about bacteria in the water should be easy enough to test.My thoughts exactly. Additionally, there are standards for how large openings should be in relation to the number of anticipated occupants, limits on occupants, and exit routes that are part of standard architectural design. Zoning laws, fire safety laws, etc. are all generally enforced during any new construction. Is this guy suggesting that this didn't occur or is he suggesting that he knows better than the law?
Mr. Ekshun: This reminds me of some stories I've heard about Microsoft. Dissenting opinion/new idea/not doing exactly what you're told? Demoted, reassigned, or fired. Come to think of it, that seems to be the way most large American companies are managed.
wambu: It's sad the amount of attention-whoring that goes on around this event. The public outrage over perceived slights. The bickering over control. The slobbering fealty of our politicians. The violent rape of our civil liberties and personal freedoms./but that's how post-9/11 America rolls
LeGnome: Never forget the fundamental rules of the American workplace: Shut up and do as you're told. Keep your head down and make the numbers look good. Miss those, and it won't matter how many lives you save, you slave.
