Not half as special as you, Pal.

I'm still waiting for debates with real time fact checking with follow up statements/questions from the moderator.

/will never happen cause the parties are too chicken shiat

bertgomez: wow, all this farking libtard butthurt makes me feel all the better about who is going to win the election next month

what a bunch of pussies, whining about nothing

Probably just his long form birth certificate in case he got asked for it. Because this cheatgate scandal definitely has something on par with the birthers.

did anyone see mitt using a handkerchief during the debate? seems like this would be easy to verify

lennavan: Contrabulous Flabtraption: Daily Kos conducts a poll on whether readers thought Romney cheated. Gee, I wonder what the results will be....

That's actually a useful poll. It's the equivalent of asking "how many of our readers are farking retarded?"

You decide
Notes
81% 1838 votes
Hanky
12% 290 votes
Pie
5% 136 votes

2267 votes

81% of DailyKos readers are farking retarded.

For the record, I voted pie.

So....."you didn't build that" is out of context and bad....but we can make political hay out of a handkerchief. Come on.

It was just his list of ways he would kill and eat Big Bird in front of the nation's children.

Lando Lincoln: So the candidates are provided with a pen and paper on the podium already...and Romney took some paper out of his pocket and put it on the podium.

Yeah. That's cheating.

No, the point is they specifically aren't allowed to bring notes.

IMHO the reason there's such a discrepancy between what Romney said at the debate and what he says on the campaign trail is that the real Romney is too liberal for the RNC.

Much the same way as McCain was too liberal for the RNC and only became a douche once he got the nomination.

2012-10-05 12:32:32 PM
This is about as stupid as the Birthers. Do you really think a canidate for the POTUS would blatently cheat during a debate with a world audience watching their ever move and word coming out of their mouth? Everything they did was scipted and practiced with attention paid to every detail to ensure no mistakes would be made.

Yes, this would be about on par with thinking Democrats would not bother to check if a man representing the Democrats and running for president was in fact a born US citizen qualified to run for president.

Watched it several times. It's either many sheets of paper folded or a folded handkerchief. It moved more like cloth when he tossed it on the podium.

So the democrats are using the same strategy to explain the debate as the presidency, making excuses.
1, Bad Moderating
2, Altitude
3, Cheating

2012-10-05 12:34:20 PM
I despise Romney.

That said, it looks like a hanky to me. I'm not seeing the huge issue here.

Cheating is bad, sure, but just because I don't like him doesn't mean I get to accuse him of cheating just because there's *something* he lays on the podium.

Benefit of the doubt for him, on this case.

hmm...he should have to provide these notes for our review. Hopefully it won't take him three years to produce them...cuz' yak know, it's teh importants while people are loosing their houses.

Before you butt-hurt reply...I jest.

This 'issue' is as pointless as the birth certificate controversy.

I personally can't stand Romney, but the amount of tears, poutrage, and tiny fist shaking by the FarkLibsTM is absolutely hilarious.

Romney came out swinging, Obama wasn't prepared for it, and ended up looking lost and defensive. It happened. Get over it, it probably won't happen again.

2012-10-05 12:35:30 PM
Wow, subby, I gotta say all this crying and excuses kinda reminds me of fringe GOP birthers. Maybe you can get Kanye West or one of the Baldwins to demand that Romney release his long-form debate notes?

kimwim: Why would he have put a hanky on the table? That would have been weird. And a hanky isn't so large, with such heft. He is a lying sack of shiat, through and through.

THIS.

It landed on the podium dead flat and with weight. Veeeeerry interesting.

2012-10-05 12:35:50 PM
Oh god, the butthurt fueled derp is just overwhelming.

1. It looks pretty damned close to a handkerchief.

2. Even if it's notes, so what? It's a debate, not the SATs. If someone wants to make sure certain points don't get forgotten in the mix, so be it.

Obama lost a debate, there will be more, get over it.

Seeing as Romney beat Obama like a rented biatch, I suppose the only possible explanation for libtards is that he cheated.

That also explains why Obama was blubbering like a Joe Biden clone for 90 minutes. Somehow.

Sure. Most people don't hide things up their sleeve however. Sure but someone can ask him what it was and why it was up his sleeve.

mantabulous: Rich, elitist pricks have handkerchiefs, Real Americans use Kleenex.

Never understood handkerchiefs myself. Once kleenex was invented you'd think no one would carry one of those nasty things around anymore.

Who cares? Let him have a teleprompter and assistant on stage. It doesn't change his carefully crafted marketing material. If a person in a debate can bring notes that are successfully used, well it's not really a good debate is it?

2012-10-05 12:38:44 PM
I'm not a Romney supporter, but my first thought was, "why would ANYONE take a risk like that?"

Then when I saw it, I thought it looked like a handkerchief.

Who would throw a stack of cards onto a podium like that? Think of what a stack of cards would do if you tossed it onto a table.

It bugs me how people are looking for any fault they can find, at the expense of attention to the most basic faults, like policy.

2012-10-05 12:39:04 PM

skykid: alphalemming: One man on the stage was looking down at his podium all night. It wasn't Romney.

This isn't a "gotcha" for the left, it's a pathetic reach that only resounds in the echo chamber. Obama clearly didn't bring his A game and will bring it next time because his second term is riding on it.

Yeah because that 96% according to Nate Silver isn't safe enough.

Nate Silver has it at 87.1 percent, not a huge difference, but on the left his comments state on Oct. 5 : "This might be bad for business - but you probably ought not to pay too much attention to the numbers you see in the right-hand column of this blog over the next day or two."

If you must snark, let it be accurate snark...

He openly places it on the podium, not caring who sees it. If this was the note cards that so many anti-Romney people want it to be, wouldn't someone during the debate asked about it?

Pichu0102: Nightsweat: Who cares? Both candidates should have notes.

This bears repeating. Having pre-made notes during a debate strikes me as good preparation, especially since you have to still work within a changing debate.
Romney is a grand asshole for many reasons. This is not one.

I suspect the reason for the rule in the first place was Perot from 1992, when he kept showing up with these giant 30x40 whiteboards.

cryinoutloud: violentsalvation: Ah, the Romneybot can also inhale coded messages. He's tricky!

Cocaine-laced handkerchief. That's why he was so animated and made Obama look so blah.

You may be on to something there.

Obama looked over tired to me.
