I would have gone with the Hero tag myself, but it's nice to see professional athletes in the news for something positive.

Too bad they didn't teach him that the only thing that gets hit over your head late in the game with a lead is a home run

Even though he is 32 years old, he has just recently started to make a millionaire's salary in baseball. Up until last year the most he ever made in a season $440,000. So as soon as Nelson Cruz started making big bucks in baseball, he went looking around to see how he could help. And he's doing it in a very efficient bang for the bucks way, not just starting a bogus foundation for tax purposes. Good for him.

Nelson Cruz single handedly gang-raped the Tigers' pitching staff last fall.

According to our local guys, a USED top of the line tanker will run $250,000 or more. It doesn't take too many $50K houses saved to make up the cost. Definitely efficient and still tax deductible. Good thinking Nelson!

That's the only reason he's doing this. To make himself right again with God.

It's his penance.

What struck me was that this city has a population of 250k and little to no fire equipment/ambulances? Wow, just a reminder that life could be a lot worse.
