If the debates sway your vote, you're not a very informed voter. All of their positions are already out there (or lack there of in Romney's case). Just freakin' read!

Obama has been President of the United States for nearly 4 years. Romney has been campaigning for president for 6 years. All the information to make a choice about them has been written everywhere and broadcast all over the place for years now. Get your head out of your ass for 10 minutes and pay attention to the world around you. If you haven't made up your minds about them 5 weeks before the election, I'm sorry, but you are very much a "low information voter". Be proud.

Oh, it's time to post this again:

From a 2008 Daily Show segment on the undecided, or stupid, voters. Still one of the funniest things I think they've ever done.

Aarontology: So she agrees with Obama on more things, (things she feels quite strongly about) and says Romney hasn't given her a reason to vote for her, but she's still "undecided"

IF I vote, it will be for Obama. Not even Romney knows his own platform. After watching the debates, sure, he came off strong and presidential, but he backtracked on everything. He was pandering to the rich for the last few years to get their money, now that he has the funds to run the campaign, he's telling the middle class what they want to hear.

What's stupid is, regardless of his flip-flopping, backtracking and etch-a-sketch nature, everyone on the Right will vote for him simply because he has an (R) after his name. Nevermind the fact that Obama is a carbon copy of their venerable saint Ronnie Reagan, Obama has a (D) and he's black, so he's bad. Yes, many on the right are racist.

She sounds like from her family she has had a lot of Party Line indoctrination in her past. Sounds like all her logic tells her to vote for Obama, but that childhood programming to vote for The Party is making her brain mushy.

I'm pretty sure anyone who claims to be an undecided voter by this point is a loser just wanting attention. I really can't think of another explanation.

He's going to have to keep with that strong performance over the next two debates, or he's toast. The way people are lamenting or celebrating, they seem to forget there are two more. But you're right. When pressed on anything specific about his plan, Romney couldn't answer a damn thing. Only that he's going to cut deductions, but there aren't enough for the wealthy to prevent the middle class from paying more.

WorldCitizen: She sounds like from her family she has had a lot of Party Line indoctrination in her past. Sounds like all her logic tells her to vote for Obama, but that childhood programming to vote for The Party is making her brain mushy.

Exactly. I could see it if she mentioned a few of Romney's proposals that she supported, because then she would be trying to weigh those versus Obama's. But she, by her own admission, says very little about Romney appeals to her.

It's like looking at two restaurant menus. One has a lot of things you like, one has nothing you like, and then saying you're not sure which restaurant you want to go to.

With two more debates to go, what will it take for O'Toole to make a decision?

"Maybe just [for] one of them to terribly screw up and have a Sarah Palin moment where one of them proves to be inept," she says.

Says the woman who voted for Sarah Palin in 2008.

Here's the thing- she wants attention, which as an "undecided" in Ohio she's gonna get, and she's used to her parents telling her how terrible the Democrats are.

Wake up sweetie.

I can see an undecided/low info voter getting influenced by the potrayal of the debate by the media and all the stories about it afterwards but no way in hell the actual content of the debate swayed any opinion.

David Sedaris on undecided voters in 2008:

Then you'll see this man or woman- someone, I always think, who looks very happy to be on TV. "Well, Charlie," they say, "I've gone back and forth on the issues and whatnot, but I just can't seem to make up my mind!" Some insist that there's very little difference between candidate A and candidate B. Others claim that they're with A on defense and health care but are leaning toward B when it comes to the economy.

I look at these people and can't quite believe that they exist. Are they professional actors? I wonder.

Or are they simply laymen who want a lot of attention?

To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. "Can I interest you in the chicken?" she asks. "Or would you prefer the platter of shiat with bits of broken glass in it?"

To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.

I mean, really, what's to be confused about?

I forget who said it, but it went something like this:

You know those idiots that wait until they get to the counter at McDonald's to decide what they're gonna order? "Can I help you, sir?" "Hmmm, maybe I'll have a number 2... no wait... let me think... hmmm..." These are the people that get to decide who gets to lead the free world.

Next debate, Big O, after another string of Romneywords:

"Dammit Mitt, do you even care about this country, or are you going to continue to lie and change your mind until you fool enough people to get elected? Is that all it's about for you, the election? Have you no love for these people, no central goodness in you, no core? Is it really that easy for you to say the impossible is possible, that math lies, that you'll do everything they want and nothing they don't, anything for that one prize, the election?

Look, unlike you, I actually care about America. Which means I want real solutions, not fairy dust. That means I have to talk about tough decisions, and sacrifices, and how things don't always go the way we plan, but how we have to continue to try and make more tough decisions and really try to get things better. If there are people out there who don't want to hear that, if there are people out there who are swayed by this BS of yours, where nothing needs to be done and it solves everything, where taxes won't change but the economy will get better and jobs grow on trees, then fine. Let them vote for you. I can't sit here and pretend like you are a rational alternative. I can't pretend to debate when the very foundation of debate, logic and consequences, is abandoned. I'm not here for story time. American policy is not fiction."

O'Toole, a marketing coordinator for an accounting firm and an MBA student at the University of Akron, considers herself a moderate Republican who swings to the left on social issues such as abortion rights and gay marriage.

Fascinatingly, this is how EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN IN THE COUNTRY views themselves. "Ho Hum, I just worry about government financing like a Republican should, worry about social issues like a Democrat should, but vote republican in every election. Then I biatch about tax and spend democrats and gun rights until someone asks me about gay marriage and then gay rights are my biggest concerns!"

Maggie. Darling. Next time a reporter comes up to and asks if you have a few minutes. Tell them to go fark themselves. You're not cut out for the limelight.

Sorry. If you don't vote, you're a terrible excuse for an American. Like. Farking abominable. I don't complain when people don't get active. I don't get upset when people don't seek out good information or do their own research.

If someone tells me they "just aren't gonna vote" this year, I ask if their legs work. Then I ask if their eyes work. Then I ask if they can get a couple hours off work that day. Then I ask if they have something more important to do than participate in the system that hundreds of thousand of Americans have died to guarantee their ungrateful ass. You can't even be bothered to punch a farking hole in a piece of paper. Lazy ass motherfarkers. I don't care if you vote for the rotted corpse of Benedict Arnold.

Failure to vote is failure to respect America. That simple.

Also, voting in a primary requires you be registered to the party whose primary it is. This young lady is... confusing. And a bad example of the electorate.

That's the new thing right now. The electorate is comprised of ignorant, stupid, silly, petty, foolish people who have no idea what end of their GI tract to wipe when they take a shiat, let alone what the hell a credit default swap was. These people exist, sure. But ... I donno how helpful it is to showcase them. Especially as individuals. Way to go Maggie, you're in the news. For being farking *dumb*.

While it's true that Ohio is technically a closed primary state, the process of changing party registration is as simple as going to the polls that day and requesting a different primary ballot.

What the hell does "people died for it" have to do with any particular institutions morality? For that matter, how many people actually have laid their lives down for "voting"? I'm guessing the number is trivially small.

While I see nothing to like about Romney, I[m not going to bash someone for being undecided. It's much better than voting a straightParty ticket. At least these people are stopping to THINK before they vote, rather than automatically voting based on the letter in parentheses following the candidate's name.

Who farking cares if they don't make up their mind until election day? Besides, there was nothing in that debate to sway me one way or the other if I were undecided, so I don't know why everyone expects these people to instantly make up their mind.
