to misquote the best game of all time:

Did you hear the one about the dolphin and the chef?

A dolphin walks in to a sushi restaurant and says to the chef: "Hey, you killed my father."

"That's my business, fish," the chef replies.

The dolphin contemplates this for a moment and says: "Then I challenge you to a game of chess. If I win, you stop being a chef forever."

"And if I win?" asks the chef.

"You can feed me to your customers," the dolphin replies. So the chef and the dolphin play chess. Dolphins love to play chess, so in a few moves the chef was checkmated. "Well, looks like I win," says the dolphin. The chef nods as he plunges his knife into the fish's belly. "But I won!" Cries the dolphin, as he feels the knife wriggling in his guts.

"So did your father," says the chef.

/ why was the tagged as satire, I thought the beggar dolphin story was real (i read it on fark a while ago)? dnrtfa closely... but who kills a dolphin with a screwdriver?

The article doesn't explicitly state whether he died happy but I think we all know the answer.

It's a repeat too. Does changing it to a satire tag allow it to bypass the no-repeat clause?

I also seem to remember reading on fark about the dolphin dying from the exact same diet, earlier this week.

Not satire at all - Maybe the headline was so funny it needed to be out there for all to read and chuckle at?

So he lived to 20, which is usual life expectancy for dolphins, but it was definitely the interaction with people that killed him. OK. Sure thing Dr. Debbie Downer. They article didn't mention that he was a loner dolphin that didn't have a pod. So his interaction with people was probably the only social interaction he had with other mammals. The little guy was probably as happy as he was going to be.

so, they usually live about twenty years, and this one lived to about twenty years, but because it had people food in it, humans were basically responsible for its death?

maybe it *wanted* to go out with a bang. Don't judge his lifestyle.

Another fact they are keeping from us is that Beggar the dolphin spent a lot of time with a wild group of sea cows just down the shoreline.....keeping late hours - smoking turtle grass

FTA: "...and a stomach filled with items not normally included in a dolphin's diet such as fishing hooks, strands of fishing line, and squid beaks, "

Nope, not even close to the same diet of a Barcalounging patriarch.

/ Subby and article fail miserably.

Obviously you have never seen my dad devour a plate of squid beaks before.

By the same diet do you mean pork rinds and Budweiser?
