Oh that one. The one where he accidentally said "necessarily skyrocket" instead of "not necessarily skyrocket".

You see, you would never use the term "necessarily" that way. "Necessarily" the term is never used in the affirmative sense. It is always used with the qualifier "not" proceeding it.

If you deliberately used the term in the affirmative sense, you would necessarily be developmentally challenged.

Here's the funny part.

Headline: Jump in Gas Prices Triggers Shortages in Some Areas

Story: Gas prices jumped overnight, etc, etc. "Refinery and pipeline mishaps, along with the state's strict pollution limits are all, in part, to blame. They've sent wholesale prices soaring to all-time highs this week.

One of the disruptions involved a power outage on Monday at the Exxon Mobil plant in Torrance, which normally produces 150 millions barrels of gas per day.

Additionally, Chevron's Richmond plant, the largest refinery in Northern California, has been running at reduced capacity since a fire Aug. 6.

At the same time, California refineries have dropped production in recent weeks in anticipation of switching over to a "winter blend" of gasoline, which emits more pollutants, next month."

So, the headline is exactly the opposite of the story. Incredible.

But, cearly the local price increases in southern California are Obama's fault.

And August. The employment numbers in August were corrected massively upward. We gained double the number of net jobs originally reported.

My anecdotal evidence (talking to my employer and a local employment agency) it seems like in this area at least the economy is booming. I suspect that as long as stocks stay up construction will skyrocket next year (there's a lot of pent-up demand) and in turn the economy will look great, no matter who wins.

Cool... Unfortunately, the Bruins don't have a lot of players with two-way contracts, so there won't be too many making their way down to the AHL. The P-Bruins were pretty shiatty last season, but at least some of the recruits will be getting a little ice time.

P-Bruins recent open practice was packed, apparently.

I'm just thankful Providence is 20 minutes away, so I'll still get to watch live professional hockey without much effort... and the tickets are a lot cheaper than Bruins' tickets. Beer's cheaper at the Dunk, too.

Trying to keep it positive. : )

RelativeEase: Unemployment is up from 6.8% when Obama was elected to 7.8% today. With a high of 10% during Obama's tenure.

When elected?? Now that's a new tack for the GOP ship of fools. How about blaming Obama for unemployment from the time he decided to run for office in 2007?

Look, Recession is a word that means something. According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (the official arbiter of U.S. recessions) the recession began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009. The damage was all on Bush's watch.

Obama's stimulus quickly increased the GDP growth rate but GDP growth eased off when the money ran out. The GDP has been steadily positive since 2011 largely because of the actions of the Federal Reserve. The Republicans have effectively obstructed almost all attempts at positive fiscal policy. Reduced interest rates and the payroll tax holiday have allowed folks to get out their high mortgage payments and they have some extra money to spend. That increases demand, employers hire more workers and the virtuous cycle keeps rolling on.

Good, I will clear 150k this year. Not quite the 1%, but my taxes sure feel like it.

Note, the drop in unemployment suddenly, that portion is really based on the household survey, which somehow magically came up with 800k+ people returning to work? I call sauce, so do most economists. Number is simply wrong.
