Bloody William: mrshowrules: Since Obama passed his first budget in October 2009, the U6 has dropped from 17.2% to 14.7%. So it has been dropping gradually.

The U6 numbers over the last few years don't mean as much as implying the change of unemployment rate is between the U6 under Obama and the U3 under Bush and previous presidents because it proves Obama is the worst president ever.

Why stop there?

The U1 in January 2009 was 3.1% now the U6 under Obama is 14.7%. The U# has increased by 600% and the unemployment has increased by (14.7/3.1) or 474%.

It is worse than I thought.

I don't cheer for crappy number just because they are a fraction less crappy than last months numbers. I also don't cheer for crappy numbers because they are less crappy than the last failure that was in office.

But hey your guy is in office now so cheer that unemployment is down a fraction of a percent and ignore the staggering debt and deficit growth, household income falling, and energy prices skyrocketing "necessarily". It's clearly a great day for the country

In Canada we never blame low or high gas prices on the Government. We are less stupid that way.

In the United States some of know that when you intentionally drive up the cost of one or more forms of energy it effects the others. But keep telling yourself that.

So Obama is intentionally driving up the price of gas? Let me guess, by delaying the Keystone Pipeline? Please tell me that is not what you are seriously going to argue?

No, he's intentionally driving up the price of electricity. When one goes up they all are effected.

Seasonally adjusted total employment, and change from previous month:

August 139,627
September 140,025 398
October 140,302 277
November 140,580 278
December 140,790 210
January 141,637 847
February 142,065 428
March 142,034 (31)
April 141,865 (169)
May 142,287 422
June 142,415 128
July 142,220 (195)
August 142,101 (119)
September 142,974 873

January, 2009 142,099

So, a net total of 875,000 jobs have been added on Obama's watch. Up until last month, the net total was 2,000.

Two houses within two blocks of me are in foreclosure, people are just walking away from them. The economy seems to be getting worse.

I sold my house for a 50K profit in September and bought a brand new one. Builder told me the bottom was reached earlier this year and his business is now booming again.

Anecdotal evidence how does it work?

Here's one...

From TFA: "For more information on the actual unemployment rate versus Obama administration statistics, read Jerome Corsi's Red Alert, the premium, online intelligence news source by the WND staff writer, columnist and author of "Where's the Birth Certificate?" and the "Where's the Real Birth Certificate?" e-book."

Yep, truly reliable source there, matey. I am convinced. My whole life up to this point has been a lie!

What the hell does that have to do with two idiots arguing about which of their anecdotes are more indicative of the housing market overall?

Hey! I resemble that remark. I wasn't trying to prove anything other than you can't tell what the market is doing by a local anecdote. Mine was exactly opposite of his. So it means squat.

Brubold: GAT_00: So unemployment is now lower than when he took office. There go a swarm of GOP talking points.

Yeah if that unemployment number meant anything you'd have a point. The reason the number keeps inching down is because people keep dropping out of the work force because they can't find work. As Romney points out, the real number would be closer to 11% if that wasn't the case.

Also, not that I expect people, much less Republicans, to be honest about things but it is really idiotic to try to pin the jobs numbers on Obama "when he took office." First off, people try to pin the January numbers on Obama but presidents aren't even inaugurated until Jan 21st. But more so, no politician magically gets laws passed their first day in office and when you are talking about somethingl ike a stimulus it takes a while to take affect.

Looking at the charts, its easy to see that economy was in a tailspin, Obama came in and passed a stimulus which righted the ship when it took effect.
