Well that is some great news and I'm sure Obama will NOT bring it up during any of the debates.

2012-10-05 09:51:11 AM
The GOP is trying to make big hay out of the "bad economy" painting a picture of a bumbling president, who just cant seem to get a handle on it. Well, I'm not sure if these new unemployment figures are a tad smoke-and-mirrors, but all one has to do is look at the steady recovery of all markets and improvements of nearly all economic indicators over the last year. I'd say that to the extent that the president can move the economy (with is very little), Obama's stepped up and got the job done.

The general consensus of the politicos about Obama's debate performance Wednesday is that it was abysmal. Romney should have got a good poll bump, but he didn't. The red states are still red, the blue states still blue and both candidates lead margins continue to widen in them. I don't think there's enough polling data from swing states yet to see if Obama hurt himself in them, but somehow I doubt it. Romney's 47% blunder is not going to go away and being smooth in the debates isn't going to negate it.

Spade: Wait, I thought adding part time low wage jobs was called a "jobless recovery" and was a bad thing?

a jobless recovery is where GDP inches up but unemployment remains high, which is what we've had for much of the past 4 years. now, if republicans hadn't blocked every single piece of jobs legislation, and if they hadn't caused our credit rating to be downgraded during the credit ceiling fiasco, we might've had a regular recovery.

honestly, considering the severity of the crash in '08 and the veracity of the republican plan to crater the economy, i'm amazed that we're still in positive territory at all.

Launch Code: 7.8% is only a good thing for the obamorons that think dear leader is doing a good job. To the millions of middle class workers that are still out of work those numbers stink. obama promised 5.6% three years ago. He either lied or didn't understand the how bad the economy was suffering.

The debate proved obama doesn't have a clue. Even the obama friendly media couldn't spin his stammering. Romney knows how to fix this. The only people that can't see through obamas failures are the rubes on the left.

Then why can't he tell us his plan?

So we added 114,000 jobs.
But the number of unemployed people dropped by 456,000.

So, what happened to the other 342,000 people that aren't unemployed but apparently didn't get jobs?

They retired

or died.

I don't cheer for crappy number just because they are a fraction less crappy than last months numbers. I also don't cheer for crappy numbers because they are less crappy than the last failure that was in office.

But hey your guy is in office now so cheer that unemployment is down a fraction of a percent and ignore the staggering debt and deficit growth, household income falling, and energy prices skyrocketing "necessarily". It's clearly a great day for the country

When looking at these job numbers, you have to consider that everyone in the GOP that isn't already a millionaire considers themselves temporarily underemployed.

2012-10-05 09:59:58 AM
I'm sure this has been said already, but that 7.8% does not take into account the millions of people who have run out of benefits, taken small part time jobs, or just plain stopped looking. Do you realize how many people run out of unemployment benefits every day? But I'm sure these facts are not worth noting to Obama sycophants
