sprawl15: When the U3 numbers start looking good, it's time to compare U6 numbers under Obama to U3 numbers under Bush.
GAT_00: So unemployment is now lower than when he took office. There go a swarm of GOP talking points.
TrainingWheelsNeeded: gilgigamesh: Instagreen! Too bad I have stuff to do today and can't spend the whole day watching the meltdown.hey, I was gifted a month subscription. Still feeling my way around total fark. How can you tell instagreen?
Summoner101: Businesses started hiring once they saw how well Romney did in the debate./figured I'd beat the derp to the punch
Aarontology: As an America loving conservative, the fact that more people are working than before angers and infuriates me.
The Muthaship: greighwolf: Ah the same exact time when companies hire temp holiday staff, just wait till the turn of the year to hear the news scream "Unemployment skyrocketed!!!"No, no. It's not the hiring of seasonal help, it's a great turn around! FOUR MORE YEARS!
greighwolf: Ah the same exact time when companies hire temp holiday staff, just wait till the turn of the year to hear the news scream "Unemployment skyrocketed!!!"
Spade: +114,000 jobs added doesn't keep up with population growth.
Pumpernickel bread: Not enough jobs are being produced to put a dent in the unemployment numbers, so this is actually an indicator of something worse - in the past month, thousands of Americans have given up hope of finding a job and just stopped trying.
david_gaithersburg: Wow, upon actually looking at the report these numbers really suck. They had to add restatements from prior months to the current month in order for it not to look like a complete disaster. The reality is that the current month was short the 200k jobs needed to keep up with the rate of new people entering the work force. But hey, keep chugging that kool aide my leftist friends.
Biff_Steel: Momma Grizzly said 0bummer is about to be floored by a big scandal. Anybody know anything about this?

The Muthaship: Aarontology: As an America loving conservative, the fact that more people are working than before angers and infuriates me.It's the lying about it that gets to me...
AngryTeacher: Big Whoop! After Romney's butt-kicking of Obama in the debates, the freedom loving small businesses are hiring again because they know socialism is over.
tricycleracer: This is just Job Creators™ reacting to the inevitable Romney presidency.
FlashHarry: that may be true, but for the first time in a while, the rate dropped because workforce participation increased. that's HUGE news because it flies in the face of the "b...b...b..but discouraged workers" talking point.
Aarontology: Nope, I'd rather have poor economic news because that helps politically.
Grand_Moff_Joseph: Pumpernickel bread: Not enough jobs are being produced to put a dent in the unemployment numbers, so this is actually an indicator of something worse - in the past month, thousands of Americans have given up hope of finding a job and just stopped trying.Um, you may want to double check Dusk's post a couple of entries above yours. Labor force participation is actually up.Still, even if you're right in the end, 9/10 people only care what the top line number is - not what the math is behind it.
hdhale: I think that once enough people are convinced that Christmas season employment is the only work they are likely to get any time soon, and the only way their kids are going to see presents, suddenly taking a massive paycut to hop back into the workforce and unload boxes of Chinese goods at Walmart sounds pretty damn good. For all you cheering right, will you be cursing Obama come January when the unemployment rate rises well above 8% again? Nah, you'll go back to mumbling about Bush again I'm sure, win or lose in November.
