When the U3 numbers start looking good, it's time to compare U6 numbers under Obama to U3 numbers under Bush.

This is good news for sure. I work at a fulfillment center for an online retailer and we've actually just added quite a few new jobs, most of them temp-to-hire, so it's not just a seasonal bump. We're also opening a new warehouse with hundreds of new jobs there as well.

Unfortunately, Obama did botch the debate so our shrills are back in full force.

None, apparently. In fact that number dropped. Massive revisions to previous numbers.

I am sure conservatives are going to find a way to tie this to abortion....and sponsor a bill that both raised the unemployment rate and provides for new items to be inserted in to womens' whoo-hoos.

Win/Win!

2012-10-05 09:10:04 AM
that's no counting the under employed, the people who stopped looking, college students, part time workers, people who hate their bosses, children, elderly or the dead. the real unemployment rate is 453%

Damn you Obama!

I completely concur. I'm relieved too. The MSM saying Mittens won the debate because he bullshiated the best was surreal. Romney even quoted the GOP mantra during the first debate: Repeat the lies over and over again until they believe the lies.

Well done. The transition from the Bush Recovery to the Romney Recovery over the summer was surprising gradual.

2012-10-05 09:12:40 AM

August revised upward from +96K to +142K, best August since 2006.

July revised upward from +141K to +181K.

U.S. jobless rate at 44-month low.

Labor force participation rate up 0.1%. Employment population ratio up 0.4%. U-5 down 0.3%. U-2 down 0.3%.

Also, Jack Welch is an idiot.

Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can't debate so change numbers

Like the lie that 7.8% is lower than 7.6%?

Not enough jobs are being produced to put a dent in the unemployment numbers, so this is actually an indicator of something worse - in the past month, thousands of Americans have given up hope of finding a job and just stopped trying.

Yeah.

+114,000 jobs added doesn't keep up with population growth.

Um, you may want to double check Dusk's post a couple of entries above yours. Labor force participation is actually up.

Still, even if you're right in the end, 9/10 people only care what the top line number is - not what the math is behind it.

Yeah, that's likely the case. OTOH, though, there are 114K people out there getting paid to do something today, instead of collecting unemployment checks, so I'm happy.

As an America loving conservative, the fact that more people are working than before angers and infuriates me.
