The problem with many so-called liberal Democrats is that for 4 years now they've been fooling themselves into believing that Obama is something that he isn't. Romney = Wall Street. Obama + Walt Street lite. He can't attack Romney too vigorously because he can't bite the hand that feeds him. But he doesn't want to anyway. Ultimately, he'll cut Social Security and Medicare and gladly throw the working man under the bus. He bailed out the banks but won't fight for money that could provide jobs for people unless business can profit from it. His health care plan is designed to help insurance companies as much if not more than helping the average American. our troops are still in Afghanistan while he searches for another war to start. Obama maintains deference to the military-industrial-security complex. He's no real liberal except for some social issues and the Obama many Democrats think he is is just a figment of their collective imagination.

neenerist: TFA: " There was, in the expression, a mixture of annoyance, impatience, and dislike. Either Obama couldn't stand looking at Romney, or he decided it was a better debating tactic to not even deign to consider him and to address hapless moderator Jim Lehrer and the audience instead of his challenger. "

Or he wasn't happy at what an entire country saw, the moderator not enforcing the rules of debate and allowing Romney last lie on most points? Granted, not being prepared for that was a tactical failure but that doesn't excuse your dismal journalism, sweetie. Stick to spinning events lacking millions of eye witnesses.

Or he just walked in from an impromptu security briefing on Turkey's retaliatory shelling of Syria, and a phonecall with Erdogan and all he was thinking was:

"You have part of my attention - you have the minimum amount. The rest of my attention is back at the offices of the White House, where my colleagues and I are doing things that no one in this room, including and especially my opponent, are intellectually or creatively capable of doing."
