Rocket is another name for Arugula. It's used fairly often as a salad green. Kind of peppery tasting and very good (IMO) when mixed with other greens and bits of fruit and meat with a sweet kind of salad dressing. I like the combination of peppery/spicy, salty/meaty and sweet. It's lovely.

When it's fresh from the garden, it can overpower the rest of the salad, sweet salad dressing for sure

Come on now. If you're gonna call it rocket rather than the arugula that most people can identify, call it rapeseed oil, not canola.

That's what they call arugala in Europe. I ordered a pizza in Italy with"rocket" just to find out what is was. It ended up with a pizza with a salad on top. I was very good. I make it at home sometimes.

2012-10-05 09:23:18 AM
That looks tasty. The bleu cheese and cranberry may balance the arugula taste. Quinoa is really high in nutrients.

*saves recipe

Never heard it called arugula before (and Chrome's spell checker doesn't know it either). As we're on the subject, WTF is half and half?

Half heavy cream, half milk. Used mostly for coffee.

This is true. Fresh from the garden I have to chop it very fine and mix just a teeny bit of it in the salad, or else it's all you can taste.

Hmm. This recipe would be tempting if not for the blue cheese. Would feta work as a substitute...?

Canton: Hmm. This recipe would be tempting if not for the blue cheese. Would feta work as a substitute...?

I don't see why not. Feta is a common ingredient in Italian cuisine (all over the Mediterranean, really) and so is arugula. Matter of fact, most of our imported feta in the US (California, at least) comes from Italy. I can't imagine the Italians not combining the two at some point.

Rocket = Broccoli Rabe

Broccoli Rabe is kinda like Kale or Spinach. When done properly it has a tangy bitterness to it. It's great with pork

I grow rocket/arugula every year in my garden.. multiple plants. The stuff is farkin' awesome.

2012-10-05 10:40:21 AM
To make rocket:

1 box of detergent
1 jet
1 Nuka-cola

You'll also need a Science score of 50. Quite a breakfast I'd say.
