It said the interference began on Wednesday and is affecting VOA's Persian service, along with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's and Farsi-language programming from Radio Farda.

how dare they not let us pump in propaganda

if Iran or China was using transmitters in Mexico and Canada to broadcast propaganda into the US, you can bet these same people here wouldn't just allow it

I, for one, would welcome having something to listen to on the radio that wasn't christian, country, college pop crap, or conservative talk.

You say that as if all external media is propaganda, as if all propaganda is inherently and completely wrong, and as if the internal state run media available to them which is the only choice during such events isn't just as bad if not worse than any perception you have of external media.

Our media is blocking news from Bahrain...
You know, the place we send teargas to, so as they can gas their population daily.
Why would we support them torturing their civilians?
We need our base there to hit Iran.
So, no real news for you.

You know they pay to air programs on US television, right?
Oh, and I'm not talking about gassing protesters.
I'm talking about slow killing neighborhoods by gassing them every day.

Ex-CNN reporter Amber Lyon on Joe Rogan Podcast blows whistle on CNN

It's all bought and paid for.

"Blocking" as in "not talking about" or "blocking" as in "jamming"? because there's a huge difference. Jamming of a governments communications by a government is considered an act of war, rarely acted upon as such, but it is.

I don't care about media outlets, be they state sponsored or not, selectively choosing what they talk about. What I care about is one media entity declaring that another cannot speak and removing their ability to talk. It's inappropriate to jam such communications, regardless of their content. I would be just as opposed to us jamming state sponsored media in Iran as I am of Iranians jamming our state sponsored media.
