InmanRoshi: Just as the people on the right re-invent Obama to what they WANT him to be, rather than what he is ... so, too, does the left. Whatever mojo he's ever had communicating his message has been pretty much non-existant for the better part of 3 years. At his heart, he's a policy wonk. He's not JFK and MLK love child, he's a Paul Tsongas who plays basketball and watches The Wire. He's always been a weak debater.

Don't you be dissing Tsongas. He had the coolest last name ever for a Democrat and his followers could kill you and make it look like an accident.

I doubt it was by design, but I thoroughly expect that the next debate will be something like this:

Obama: "On [X date], my opponent vowed [insert statement]. At the last debate, my opponent said [insert exact opposite of first statement]. These two positions are impossible to be held simultaneously, so Mr. Romney is clearly being untruthful on one or the other. I believe he owes it to Americans to tell them which of these two opposite statements he stands behind, and which one he was lying about just to pander to the public."

(modify with next point and repeat for the duration of the debate).
