Shaq could just continually call him "Mini-me."

Dude started with the same team, plays the same position, copied Shaq's Superman theme, moved to LA. Now he just needs to put out a platinum-selling rap album (I can't believe it either, but Shaq's first album DID go platinum) and star in some so-awful-it's-awesome movies (though I guess he was in The Three Stooges, on The Cleveland Show, and Family Feud).

Now can Dwight win the titles that Shaq has?...then go to Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Boston too.

That's the difficult part. He's gotten through the easy, fun stuff.

I can't wait for Dwight Fu to come out. My SNES hasn't been used enough recently.

Anybody who calls Brook Lopez a better true big man than Dwight Howard is a farking moron.

Soon Right Away: I can't wait for Dwight Fu to come out. My SNES hasn't been used enough recently.

The game would probably suck just as bad, too.

He's playing with Kobe so, yes.

Isn't that a little bit like, oh, Chris Jericho being called out by Rowdy Roddy Piper?

Doesn't Stern have an original idea left, or does he have to lift EVERY storyline from Vince?

Calls him out to what - a free-throw shooting contest?

Of all the people Shaq could beat, Dwight's one of 'em.

Shaq was not that great of a player, he just had size when nobody else had that size along with height, besides Dwight could be superman, Shaq has always been a flabby fat guy.

His album sucked but had one song that got airplay on mtv when they played videos along with guest rapper cameos, today he would have sold one single but very few albums.

Shaq was not always a flabby fat guy. Watch a few videos from LSU years or Orlando years. Once he came to the Lakers and won the first championship he did gain a lot of weight because of age but also because he was so dominant that he didn't need to work out to dominate and he's never had the personality of Jordan or Kobe to work on his game even if he was at the top of game.

If Shaq had the work ethic of a player like Jordan or Kobe he would have been the most dominant and the best player to have ever play the game. If Lebron was a bit more grounded (he ain't the chosen one) he could also surpass Jordan because he's a freak of nature.

You must be from the internet, where nothing is impressive.

1 over all pick in '92, rookie of the year, played 21 seasons, 15 of which went to the all star game. 3 time nba finals mvp,4 championship rings, , lead the league for 2 years in total points, 2 gold medals in the olympics, clearly this is a horrible player...

I'm born and raised in houston, we hate everything about LA but come on Shaq was an amazing player

I like how people get mad at LeBron for that tattoo.

Quick question: What was the title of the first SI cover he was on, at age 17, prior to being allowed to legally get tattoos?

A: The Chosen One.

And we can stop acting as though there's anyone who is on a par with Jordan as far as ego goes.

steamingpile knows a little about college football, roughly nothing about NFL football, and less than nothing about every other sport.

Uh, Howard is not that great of a player and just has a size/height that few people in the NBA can deal with. Howard's only real post move is that little baby hook, and he struggled with that shot last season when he faced Bismack Biyombo, a raw rookie with a lot of the same physical talents as Howard.

Shaq was never as in shape as the guys are now, in the finals against houston it was a glaring example since hakeem kicked his ass, he got by on his mass alone.

Oh I never said he wasnt a good player but for all his talk you would expect more or that he does it alone, I love that he biatched about kobe in that live rap song but without kobe and others help he would have his rings, personally for me he doesnt rank in the top 5 of all centers and probably not in the top 10. Hes a good player for this era but thats because he was a freak of nature that usually is a lineman in the NFL.

The sad part is that I know more about every sport than you do, dont forget that you didnt start ignoring me until you were proven wrong numerous times.

Howard is easy to isolate and neutralize when the magic have no one else that can come close to him

Not to mention that there are virtually no good centers in the league. It's easy to get a lot of blocks when you're camping out in the lane and you know the refs aren't going to call defensive three seconds on EVERY possession (still gets whistled for it every other game or so) and you don't have to worry about the guy you're supposed to guard doing anything offensively.

your question doesn't change the fact that Lebron believes he's the chosen one enough to get it tattooed on his back.

And I'm not saying Lebron is on par with Jordan as far as egos go because he isn't (yet). I'm saying that Lebron is more physically gifted than Jordan and Kobe and if he had a work ethic as close as those guys have he would be the best player that has ever played hands down. He might even surpass the two even without elevating his work eithic but with it there would be no doubt in anyone's mind and I'm a Kobe fan.

I'm hardly a Shaquille O'neal fan, but Dwight Howard is the world's biggest lazy crybaby. Call me when he's won something, anything.

Exactly. Howard gets by in today's NBA because he's a pure physical specimen. 7 feet, extremely athletic, able to jump out of the gym and can fly down the court for a man his size. Technique wise he's just not that good and his game hasn't evolved much at all since he's entered the NBA.

Does anyone even consider Howard an all time great at this point? Remember that Shaq made the top 50 all time list before he even went to the Lakers.

Shaq needs to shut up.

Are we really having the Shaquille wasn't a great player discussion? Again?

Even worse, Shaq was in such a rush to make a scene that he initially said Robin Lopez was a better center.

Is it bad that Dwight Howard comes off as looking more mature? Was this some kind of secret plan to make Howard look good that the Lakers front office concocted with Shaq when discussing his jersey retirement ceremony?

/Charles Barkley needs to tell everyone to just STFU.

This actually kinda makes sense, but I'm gonna go with Shaq is still pissed about people comparing D-Ho to him (yeah, I think that nickname works for him, because he's kind of a b*tch with his waffling) even though he's nowhere near the force Shaq was in his younger days.

I don't know why people keep comparing pro athletes with others, especially from different eras. The fact of the matter is, biatch and moan about this or that player all you want, but NOBODY in this thread could take on ANY pro basketball player in a game, PERIOD. Even Luc Longley, quite possibly the worst center in the history of the NBA, would wipe the floor with 99.9% of the human populace outside of the NBA. Just shut the fark up and enjoy the game.
