BARKLEY YOU FOOL! Now MJ is gonna challenge LeBron one-on-one, which will get his competitive juices flowing again and he'll attempt another comeback, which will only destroy his legacy. UGH!!!

2012-10-05 01:57:15 AM
Bigger and stronger? Yes. Faster? No.

A better shooter? He'll never be close? Defender? He can block a few more shots, otherwise will never be close.

Hmm... it's like LeBron is nothing but a more athletic Kobe without the luxury of playing with a legitimate NBA big-man.

No. Get out.

This is just silly. Both are great players. I have seen both men play under the lights, and thought both are amazing. LeBron and Jordan are the cream of elite players of their era. You may as well argue whether Superman is better than Batman.

I hate when people do this shiat with players from different eras, and then to top it off with players that played different positions. Can't we all just agree that they both were two of the greatest basketball players to play? Haters be damned.

2012-10-05 03:37:15 AM
More talented, perhaps. Drive and resilience is another story.

2012-10-05 04:17:11 AM
Of course he can you idiot. Jordan is in his 50's. no 50 something year old man can beat a pro basketball player in a game of one-on-one

Exactly. Guy's a joke here in AZ. Get pulled over for DUI by Scottsdale pigs? Oh, I'm following a chick for a blowjob is NOT going to get you out of a ticket. Mark Grace (jerk of all time-D-Backs won the world series, this tool rode on top of a fire truck with his legs spread out like he was gods gift to manhood. I almost threw up) He just got a 2nd DUI. 1st one in AZ-tent city courtesy of sheriff joe. 2nd-FELON and JAIL as in you have a department of corrections number, and go to JAIL not county jail. Just got fired as d-Backs announcer. Couldn't happen to a better guy as far as I'm concerned...

What is your issue with Chuck?

Tony Romo most certainly DOES suck.

Dunno who would win in a one on one game in their primes but it would be fun to watch. Kobe vs Jordan in their primes would be fun to watch as well.
Personally I'd pull for LeBron just to see Jordan lose. I wonder how he'd take it.

Sure, what with all those others Suns teams that made it to the NBA finals since, I can see why Sir Charles would be so reviled in AZ.

Wow, that brought back memories of playing that game on my Commodore 64 back in the mid 1980's. Many hours of fun were had.

IIRC, it took up around 13 seconds of cassette tape, although it took much longer than that for the datasette to load it.

At some point, isn't it like saying a 2012 mustang is better than a 1969 mustang? Stat wise, it's faster, better acceleration, handling, safety, mileage. Athletes today have access to better doctors, trainers and coaches. Jordan's college days are a third of a century ago.

If I'm an owner... or a coach... or another player for that matter... and I want to win titles, I would want Jordan on my team...

If I'm a player and I care about my stats first, I would want LeBron on my team since he would command double or triple team coverage on him and he is a good passer... Jordan was a good passer but I think LeBron is a better passer... and he is willing to give up the rock in tough situation, which it has actually hurt him and his team at times.

Bottom line... I would prefer Jordan on my team... Heck, I would prefer Larry Bird and Magic as well before I choose to have LeBron on my team...

/ LeBron is a great, GREAT, GREAT player... but he is no Jordan...

How many titles did MJ win w/o Pippen?

MJ had the advantage of playing in an NBA that was devoid of top talent. Magic, Bird and Isiah were all lost to injuries.
Karl Malone & John Stockton always disappointed in the playoffs.
Seattle imploded by screwing over their best young player.
Larry Johnson f*cked up his back.
The New York Knicks were basketball's equivalent of the Holocaust. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Shaq & Duncan were too young.

We are arguably in the greatest talent boom in the NBA ever. You can easily come up with 6 legitimate contenders for the title (Miami, Boston, LA, OKC, Clippers, SA). Another 4 teams who could reach the finals and not be a major upset (Philly, Dever, Indiana, Memphis). And another 4 teams who if things go right can also make the finals (Brooklyn, NY, Dallas & Minnesota).

Old guys dont want to hear that. They also wonder why guys dont play any defense. Werent games in the 70's like 134-123?

shiatty teams have never played and defense!

He also had the greatest coach of all time. Lebron has had Paul Silas, Mike Brown, and Eric Spoelstra. Lebron thrived DESPITE two of those coaches (Brown, Silas) and it's not very hard to make an argument for 3 of 3. Spoelstra isn't exactly COY material.

Which would be stupid because everyone knows the answer is Batman. (Superman vs Captain Marvel might have been a fairer fight)

Oddly, it totally depends on who has the away-field advantage re: Batman vs. Superman. In Gotham, there's no Kryptonite and Superman would annihilate Batman. In Metropolis, that sh*t seems to be all over the place and Batman would definitely plan for that.

jordan always wins because the sports writers of today all wanted to be like mike at some point in their lives. when jordan is 70 years old and the media hype around his sorry ass has died down lebron will be the greatest ever. rinse, repeat. the circle jerk keeps people occupied, i guess...

Besides the time where he "retired" for a year and a half, right (1994-95)? How about 1999-2001?

Fun fact: had the Bulls not won the title in '90-'91, he was considering quitting the sport even then, because the criticism was getting to him. Imagine if he played in today's era with 10,000x the pressure and media coverage and criticism.

Barkley DOES have a couple of gold medals and some Emmys that they probably don't, however. Oh, and there's that whole Hall of Fame thing and being one of the top 20 players in the history of the sport. But yeah, that's not a legacy.

/also, you do get rings for winning conference championships in many leagues, including probably the NBA.
