No, I hope he's keeping it together. That's a lot for anyone to go through.

How are you holding up?

I'm doing better. Had a nice chat with Domari on Facebook a few nights ago and it really helped. I also got her ashes back the other day. It was really weird because it absolutely poured on my way there after work. I mean, couldn't see the car in front of you pouring. I get her ashes and get back in my car and the rain stops momentarily and there was a big rainbow off to my left. I think it was her way (or my aunt's way) of letting me know Norbert's ok.

Been there, done that.

If not after the fact, the 'scheduling' bit...my Sainted Vet told me that FIP is a 'wasting' disease, but not a painful one.
With prednisone, we were able to keep little Merlin comfortable and have a good quality life...though far too short.

HELP!!! I don't know what to do. Cassie kinda did some coughing/wheezing yesterday briefly, but it went away after some gooshies and hairball stuff. Tonight she did the wheeze thing again and now she's sounding congested. It sounds worse when she purrs. I really can't afford the emergency vet, but I don't know if it's safe to wait until morning. She's acting perfectly normally otherwise, if that makes a difference. I'm worried...

I remember many many years ago my father quit smoking. He opened up a pack of Lucky Strikes had a cigarette put the pack in his desk drawer and that was it. He never talked about it in fact he refused to talk about it. However he took up ButterRum candies and he was never without them. Every once in a while he would look at that pack in his desk drawer and then just close the drawer. After he died I found that pack of Lucky Strikes in his desk drawer with one cigarette missing. That pack was in the drawer for
over 20 years.

For me - after a pack and a half a day (of 120s) habit for over 10 years, Trident bubble gum was all that would work... now, nearly 20 years later, I cannot stand any Trident gum! At least it served it's purpose...

Bless those firemen who save animals. For anyone who doesn't have one, these are a good thing to have - a sticker for your front door that alerts rescue personnel to having pets in your house. I keep one at every entrance in case, god forbid, there was a fire or something. We got ours for free from the kennel where we take the dog when we need to go out of town.

Cold turkey. It was the right time. I knew I really had to be ready for it, and had to WANT to do it, and I was. The night before, I'd had a bad panic attack, and I think it knocked something loose in my brain.

I just tell myself if I really want to have one, I can. They're right there. But I don't have to. So I don't. Works better for me than telling myself straight out "no", so there's no feeling like I'm missing something.

I need a touch of extra caffeine to keep me going through the day, but otherwise, just distracting myself is usually enough.

*Semi-disclaimer*: I have been taking Wellbutrin for depression for several years. It is exactly the same drug as Zyban, just with a different name and different rules for prescribers. So, don't know if it's making the quitting easier, but thought I'd better mention it, because it really helps cut the cravings for some people.

Good luck to you and Mrs. Buck -- where there's a will, there's a way.

Hi All!

Look like we might have found a new place! Yay! Thankfully it's another house with a finished basement and fireplaces!

The only thing it doesn't have that I would like would be a dishwasher but the kitchen is HUGE so it won't be as big of an issue.

Now to only get these fleas fixed, apparently Hartz flea treatment doesn't work. Boo! We'll have to take them to the vet and get the good stuff.

Well, Cassie is at the vet. Her breathing didn't sound so great again this morning and I'd much rather have her see the regular vet than go see the e-vet over the weekend. They said they were going to do chest x-rays and let me know what they find. I'm worried... I'll let you know what happens.

Update: Just got a call from the vet. The x-rays showed something, but they're not sure what... so they're taking the x-rays to a specialist tonight. They also did some blood work, gave her a steroid injection and are starting her on antibiotics to get us through the weekend. Preliminary diagnosis is possibly asthma? We don't know...

For anyone who doesn't have one, these are a good thing to have - a sticker for your front door that alerts rescue personnel to having pets in your house. I keep one at every entrance in case, god forbid, there was a fire or something. We got ours for free from the kennel where we take the dog when we need to go out of town.

My kitty, Toshiro, is at the vet as I speak. He started visiting his litterbox CONSTANTLY yesterday, but only pees a tiny bit each time. I suspect either a UTI or an early obstruction that's irritating him. We won't know until he can give a urine sample (of course he went in with a totally empty bladder). Either way, send good thoughts his way!

We're home! Cassie seems to be feeling a lot better with the steroid injection. Hopefully between that and the antibiotic, this weekend will go smoothly. She was a very good girl & they didn't even have to sedate her to get the x-rays taken! She got treats for being soooo good! The specialist will get her x-rays tonight and will let me know Monday what he thinks. Really hoping it's just asthma (treatment is steroid injections?) and NOT her heart, which could cause these symptoms. Partially ruled out because "she's so young", though they said that about Lucy's cancer, too... Granted it's a different vet in a different state. I don't think I will handle it well if it's her heart......

mousiebelle,
Hope Cassie is merely experiencing asthma. It looks scary, but can be easily treated with an inhaler (D'Artagnan scared me silly a couple years ago with an asthma attack). They may suggest a pediatric chamber for the inhaler, but those things cost a LOT ($60 two years ago).
A toilet paper roll works just as well...not to mention it is disposable and doesn't have the plastic smell that some cats find upsetting.
Sending good wishes for y'all...

{{{James72}}}...wish I had words of comfort for you.

*****

The weather's turned cold, so the entire clowder is staying home and hangin' out with me.
They take turns being my blanket...Riktor, Wimsey and Raven do OK with sharing available space on my reading or sleeping self but D'Artagnan goes solo.

Wish I knew WHY he doesn't like the other cats; he's Mr. Charisma when there's human company...greeting, purrs, ankle rubs and a polished, poised cattitude that makes visitors feel not only welcome but that they're being there has Made His Day.

Wimsey is currently 'helping' me read and post...sitting on the mouse pad (thank Bast for a lazer instead of rolly-ball mouse!), STARING at me, and trying to put either his furry white head or gentle loving paw on my hand while I am trying to type.
I feel guilty having to tell him his timing sucks.

Also, 6 mo old chihuahua somehow fell into sewer while being walked by trucker master at 0dark30AM. Very heavy grate pup may have fallen thru, wide openings. Tactical fire unit called (didn't know there was such thing), winched grate up out of way, lowered one of their own down to successfully snag pup. Rescue accomplished, pup quickly bathed before they got On The Rd Agn.

spinach gunk: John Buck 41: spinach gunk: John Buck 41: Hey, Spinach Gunk----how's the no-smoking going?
Meant to ask you in last weeks' thread but got in too late (early Tuesday AM). What's your MO? E-cigs? Chantix? Nicotine gum? Willpower/cold turkey?
Reason I'm so nosy is 'cos I'm (and Mrs. Buck) are both getting to that point.

My dad smoked for a long time, at least 30 years. He'd tried patches, meds, the gum, nothing. He ended up quitting cold turkey when his older brother had to have a mass removed from around his lung. Wasn't cancer but the scare was enough he threw the pack away and hasn't touched them since. This was around 6 years ago or so.

Did have a lot of doublemint gum around for a while though!

Don't laugh but Fink, one of my mom's cats, has asthma and they treat him with my inhaler. It was cheaper for me to give them one of my inhalers (I usually keep one up at their place anyways for emergencies in case I accidentally leave mine at home) and they told me just to give him a puff when he starts wheezing. Has a little mask for him to. He hates it but it works :)

He did that to me last night when I was trying to get around for bed. He does the Puss in Boots face and the "I'm so cute" poses. So I finally pick him up and start scritching his ears and chin. Cold turkey. It was the right time. I knew I really had to be ready for it, and had to WANT to do it, and I was. The night before, I'd had a bad panic attack, and I think it knocked something loose in my brain.

I had to have anterior spinal fusion of the 6th & 7th cervical vertebrae in 2002..
They actually go in through the front of the throat, shove everything aside, and work from the front.,
they then insert a thin slab of bone between the two vertebrae then screw a titanium "dog bone"
to the two vertebrae to hold stuff in place.

The bone fuses over time and becomes one big piece.
However, smoking prevents it from knitting together and it has to be re-done.
I quit two days before and never needed any other incentive other than not getting my
throat sliced open again.

Hang in there Spinach, we're all pulling for you!

Think it's fetal position behind the couch time... bbl.

Meant to ask you in last weeks' thread but got in too late (early Tuesday AM). What's your MO? E-cigs? Chantix? Nicotine gum? Willpower/cold turkey?

Reason I'm so nosy is 'cos I'm (and Mrs. Buck) are both getting to that point.

Ecig did it for me. I still use it.

I quit 27+ years ago. Gradually reduced the areas where I allowed myself to smoke - work was the last place and there I just quit. Whole process took about a month. I had been smoking 3 packs a day. Watching one of my more favorite co-workers die of emphysema scared me into it. Took a long time before the cravings went completely away but they were manageable after about a month, if I recall correctly. I am so thankful I was able to quit that time, it wasn't my first try.

It takes a little experimentation to find the cig that works for you and a decent effort to wean completely off of tobacco.
I smoked for over 30 years. One day I just had enough and gave myself a choice...cold turkey or ecigs?
My decision was most definitely re-enforced by the dreaded "you have lung cancer" call from my doctor shortly after I started using ecigs. Fortunately it turned out to be benign. Unfortunately they took out 1/2 of my right upper lobe to remove it completely.

I wish Cretinbob would quit but he doesn't want to. It's been one of the biggest problems I have with him. He's lied to me for around 15 years about smoking to the point it's almost comical. He's insisted he wasn't smoking but I've found cigarettes in his pocket, in his car, he's hid them everywhere and I find them. He knows I hate smoking but he wants to smoke and doesn't care about what I think of it. He blames his smokey smell on other people. But I've seen him smoke, and he still denies it! Too funny.

At least he doesn't smoke in the house or in the car when I'm with him so he doesn't continue damaging my already damaged lungs.

Hang in there Spinach, we're all pulling for you!

yep, i've got two of those, c3-c4 and c4-c5.you can barely see the scar anymore, doc did a great stitch job.

SG, just keep on keepin'on. Count every day, every hour, as a victory. I smoked 1-2 packs per day for over 20 years. Quit on Christmas day 1995 and never looked back. I'm proof that it can be done.

My Cassie was diagnosed with a non-specific bladder inflammation. Rather than put her on a special diet, my vet recommended putting her on glucosamine. I use the GNC cat Glucosamine that I found at PetSmart - you (carefully) take the capsule apart and mix it into gooshies. I say carefully because I ended up with glucosamine powder all over heck and back the first few times :) They recommended 6 weeks of one capsule twice a day and then decreasing to one capsule once a day from then on. It's now been a year since we've had any problems at all!!! I do have them on Wellness Core dry food & Wellness grain-free wet food twice a day, so I suppose some might consider that a more special diet. I've found both cats do a lot better with grain-free food. However, I highly suggest adding the glucosamine into Toshiro's diet. I still can't completely believe how much of a difference it's made for Cassie. Before the vet here figured out what was really going on, we spent most of a year in and out of a different vet's office with Cassie on lots of antibiotics, sometimes multiple antibiotics at the same time and for long amounts of time. Like I said, this week we hit the one year mark since she had any urinary issues. Glucosamine is a very small price to pay compared to all the vet visits and cleaning and everything else that came along with her urinary issues!

Wow... I feel like that was really rambly. Sorry about that.

2012-10-06 01:50:11 AM
Mousiebelle: thanks for the info, I will look into it! I have no idea why Toshiro's got his issues; the vet was saying stress often plays a role, but he lives a pretty damn stress-free life. We'll see how the diet goes. . .he LOVES his new gooshy noms, and I'm pretty damn sure he'll eat anything mixed in it. ;-) And mercifully, Toshiro would rather perish than pee outside his box. It's just that when you're in and out of the box 30+ times per day, you kick a LOT of litter out!

We have no clue what happened with Cassie, either. I had tried different kinds of food, but her tests always came back w/o crystals & normal pH & everything else they check for with urinary tract problems. X-rays of her abdomen also were normal. It wasn't until we moved & went to a new vet that we finally got the correct diagnosis. It was such a relief to just now what was going on! Our vet here is amazing :) Oh, just as an aside - the cats had been switched to the Wellness food for a little over 6 months before we were told about the glucosamine, so it wasn't the food that caused or fixed the problem.... pretty obviously the glucosamine was the cure. I hope Toshiro feels better quickly!!!

That is my daughter and son-in=laws kittie, Opie. They adopted two black shelter kitties, the male was named Optimus Prime so they called him OP. They named the little girl Ivory. Well, my eldest cat passed away at 6:30 this morning. She was fine, as far as any of us could tell, up until yesterday. Then she just kinda started laying around more than normal, and skipped dinner. Then when I got up this morning she seemed to be having trouble breathing, and wouldn't budge from where she was at. By the time we located an e-vet that was open(downside of living in the middle of nowhere) she had passed on. She was about 17 years old.

For some damn reason, I can't find a single picture of her except on my phone, and I don't have a cord to connect it to my PC. Blarg.

A special urinary tract diet. . .including MUCH more wet food. Not surprisingly, he has no problem with this! Anyway, the upshot is that he should be fine. Still thinking good thoughts for all the other kitties!!!

You can also mix the wet food with some water, to bump up the water intake. Works best with the pate style food.

Hi guys! I know I have been demoted to "that girl who used to post a bunch of LOLs". Sorry. I work most Saturdays now.

In the meantime, I need an opinion from all of you shelter-savvy peeps:

My auditorium will soon be doing a play that traditionally has a few kittens in it. I was thinking it might be cool to feature some kittens from a local shelter and do some sort of "sponsor a kitten adoption" thing to find homes for the kittens we use. Suggestions? Reasons why this is a stupid idea?

John Buck 41: Meant to ask you in last weeks' thread but got in too late (early Tuesday AM). What's your MO? E-cigs? Chantix? Nicotine gum? Willpower/cold turkey?

Reason I'm so nosy is 'cos I'm (and Mrs. Buck) are both getting to that point.

When I quit 5+ years ago, I used Chantix. I had none of the weird dreams that some people have while using Chantix. Well, let me rephrase...my dreams were no weirder than usual :o)

It was a difficult journey. I cut way down on coffee since that was a trigger and basically gave up drinking for a long time because alcohol was a HUGE trigger. It also helped that I kept one cigarette in the glove box of my car. Knowing that I had one if I absolutely needed it was comforting to me. In fact, that 1 cigarette is still in my glove box to this day. I can imagine that it's pretty stale at this point but I keep it anyway...

Also, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would become one of those people, but I can't stand the smell of cigarettes anymore. But because I am such a nice person, I do allow my dad to smoke in the house. I would be pretty ok with CDK smoking in the house if he wanted, even though I would probably be spraying air freshener constantly, but he chooses to not smoke in the house.

I didn't become one of those people either, but I must admit I do notice that festering ashtray smell on people at times. I don't mention anything because it doesn't bother me that much and also the fact that I've been there. The only thing I noticed that really bothers me since I quit smoking is diesel fumes. I can't ride behind a diesel vehicle on the highway without feeling like I'm suffocating.

No, as a matter of fact, I did not "forget" to take my meds. I refuse to take them on the advice of the voices in my head. They say the meds make them too sleepy and untalkative. ;-)

Actually, Racer does not do a good job of self-grooming and developed a lot of bad mats on her lower back/rump area that would not brush out. Soooo....even though I have shaved a pussy many times before, this was my FIRST time shaving a pussy.

I've found that adding a daily teaspoon of yogurt to Raven's diet has cut down substantially on both the quantity and...er...quality of her emissions.

She prefers the plain, live culture OikosTM to the ChobaniTM... but YMMV. We ARE talking cats, after all...

For heaven's sake, don't give them the flavored stuff! They'll probably snarf it down and ask for MOAR but it...how shall I put this...processes poorly (i.e., farts AND the runs).

For me, it was much easier giving it all up at once than going crazy wanting a cigarette when I was drinking. Alcohol would always make me smoke more so, for me, quitting and not drinking was way easier than trying to quit smoking when i was drinking.

As far as the Chantix and the nightmares, the only way to know if it will cause you to have nightmares is to just try it.

Tonight she did the wheeze thing again and now she's sounding congested. It sounds worse when she purrs. I really can't afford the emergency vet, but I don't know if it's safe to wait until morning. She's acting perfectly normally otherwise, if that makes a difference. I'm worried...

My Ivan has allergies, which cause him to be more snotty and sound real wheezy. It really manifested when we moved up here to Oregon (hello grass valley!), so I did the same, took him to the vet. And went through the same procedures it sounds like. He ended up having an irregular shaped heart on his x-ray, so they sent it to a specialist. After some expensive tests, it turns out his heart is fine, just a little enlarged and odd shaped for no reason. There is nothing wrong with his lungs, and since this started recently, they diagnosed it as allergies. They aren't too bad, so he's not on any medication, but we keep an eye on him in case it gets too bad that he might need something. He's getting wheezier now (especially when he purrs) now since it's getting colder. But he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, and he still runs and plays like normal with no side-effects.

Course, there's cat snot streaked on all the windows from him, and it's never fun when he wants to lay on my pillow and then sneeze a big one into my face...

Mrs CDK: For me, it was much easier giving it all up at once than going crazy wanting a cigarette when I was drinking.

And for me, that would be total failure because I'm sure I could justify having a cigarette if I was drinking...and the more I drank, the more I could justify, therefore I would never quit smoking :o)

/of course, once I was comfortable with not smoking, i was able to indulge again. Now I don't even think about smokes when I drink.

Whether you've quit or or trying to quit or still smoke or never smoked, I adore you all for being so supportive! :)

Good for you sweetie! Keep up the good work!

My dad died at 59 from emphysema and right heart failure after years of smoking 3 packs a day. Mom died at 78 and smoked 2 packs a day. She probably would have made it to 100 if she hadn't smoked because her mom died just 6 months before at 2 weeks shy of her 100th birthday.

I tried it once at the age of 8 or so. I had the fortune (or misfortune) of picking up one of dads smoldering butts from the driveway and tried a drag in front of our screen door. Mom fell off of the sofa she was laughing so hard.

It's hard to tell what cats are thinking at any given time. Do they genuinely like you or are they just reminding you that the kibble in the bowl is no longer fresh enough? Do they really want you to pet the furry belly, or are they just luring you into a trap? Is there really a catmergency in the other room or was Fuzzums just lonely? The world will never know.

What the heck?? Did you forget to take your meds that day, or was there a real reason for the pussyscaping?

I can attest to the love for flavored yogurt! My Sneaker cat stalks us when we have any Yoplait originals and gets to have a few licks and clean the container. Fortunately I can't attest to the number and quality of the "emissions" because he tends to sleep with Daddy during the day (Daddy works third shift) and Daddy sleeps through everything. HIs deep slumber may be a blessing in this case! :)

Scruffinator: Well, my eldest cat passed away at 6:30 this morning.

Blarg.

Biscuit will eat your face if you don't offer him yogurt (or pudding). He doesn't settle for "I'll save you some" either. He starts to get all panicky if you try to make him wait.

(SNERT)....As this was my FIRST time using electric clippers AND not knowing how she would react to such a thing AND the fact that Racer has four-paw drive (that can also double a Ninja Tiger claws) AND has been known to be very bitey without provocation...I felt it best to "get in and get out" as quickly as possible.

In reality, once I started (which happened to be her center back), she was actually very complacent. The only issues I had were on her belly (her belly ALWAYS has been her "bad touch" area). All in all, it wasn't a bad experience AND there was no blood drawn. Next time, I may get more creative and try a mohawk.

BTW...this is a "typical" Racer look...

Miss Missy, or Missy for short. Right up until yesterday she was as healthy as you could expect from a cat her age. Still went outside(we live in the country), bossed around the younger cats, practically climbed up your leg if you were making a sandwich.

The house is already a lot quieter without her x.x

Heh, she did like to do this thing where she'd wait until the house was real quiet, sit down, and yowl as loud as she could. Never did find out why she did it, every time I went and found her after I heard her she'd just run off and hide somewhere.

I was always dreading when I would add a comment to this thread. I was always a lurker, reading the stories and laughing at the pics.

But.

I lost one of my oldest companions today. I had to put Timmy (yes say it like on South Park), my 10 year old friend to sleep. He was diagnosed with lymphoma a few weeks back. At that point I thought he simply had a UTI, as he was doing his usual "Grumpy and peeing wherever I want" attitude. Turns out nope. Cancer. At that point he had not eaten in a week (was down to 12 pounds from 15, who knows how long he had been under feeding himself). 2 weeks later he was down to 9 pounds. Today marked the 5th week of not eating or drinking (I was "watering" my cat as I affectionately called the sub-cue injections I had to give him), and he started walking funny. Like his back legs were only 80% stable. Not bad, just noticeable. It was at this point that I finally realized he was not going to get better. There was nothing more I could do, and he was not happy. So I had to put my friend of 10 years, the companion that got me through relationship after relationship (and through a marriage too) to sleep.

Well enough of my sad story. All you needed to know was I lost my friend, and I am sad. SO, I am going to post a couple of my favorite memories of him here, and a picture.

Story 1) At the time I was dating another animal lover, and together we bought our three animals (well I guess she bought them, I just loved them). 2 cats and 1 dog. All crazy in their own rights. So we took these 3 animals to an enclosed outside space. Just a large fenced in yard essentially. We let them all loose. Now the dog was fine, he was trapped not going anywhere. But the 2 cats on the other hand. Well did you know cats can jump? Amazing right?! So we had to devise a method to keep the cats inside the fenced in area. Me, being the smrt person I am decided that if I attached a big stick to the cats leashes (yes, our cats were leash cats) it would throw off there balance enough where they could not jump the fence. Well on this I was spot on. The cats could not figure out how to jump with this 1 pound weight on their back.

Guess who likes sticks? Dogs. Amazing right?!

So the dog (Jacob, a Boston Terrier) sees this stick roaming around the yard. So he tears after it, grabs it and runs away with it.... And Timmy, the attached cat. By the time we got the cat back the entire back of him was stained green from the grass.

I am smrt.

Story 2) So did I mention these animals were not mine? I just loved them? Well that became very apparent when that relationship fell through. Now I had no animals. I was sad. Now this part is partly going to be played from how my head sees these things occurring. But still. I am right cause I am smrt.

When I lost the animals, they all moved to Canada (the evil uninhabitable place near Iraq, and North Korea I think). At this time they were living in some form of dorm environment (she was going to vet school and in Canada vet school people live in communals or something) And Timmy was unhappy (My head says he missed me) and decided that certain people on the floor were his enemies. They were the target of his feeling of lost (cause he missed me!). So he, in his infinite cat logic decided that he was going to poop in front of their doors every day. Yes. Every day. So Timmy got kicked out of this communal hippy vet thingy. And in her infinite wisdom, my Ex realized that Timmy missed me. She she drove Timmy back to my parents house (Chicago-ish) and I got my cat back! He never pooped in front of another door again! See he really did miss me!!!

Scruffinator, Missy rather resembled Cheeky who we adopted in W Berlin from a KingsOwnScottishBorderers family whose time there was up, as regiment was being posted to N Ireland. Yes, that was a lifetime ago, or several! Berlin was the last remaining city still occupied from WW2 until the Wall finally came down. We left there, with Cheeky & Gretl who'd lived with a US service family, in 1978. US, French & Her Majesty Elizabeth II's forces (in more frequent rotation than US) served as occupiers when W Berlin was still The Outpost Of Freedom 110 Mi Behind The Iron Curtain Surrounded By The Godless Commie Hordes. Had to say all that in single breath, still can.
Missy seems a somewhat typical tabby & white pattern, none the less attractive for being frequent. We did second the motion, back in the day.

ferfer72: Hi guys!

The zoo here does something like this. They adopt dogs and cats from local rescues and train them for shows at the zoo. While the cats and dogs are performing, they talk about adoptions and the rescues they work with. We've had several of our kitties adopted by them :)

Scruffinator: Well, my eldest cat passed away at 6:30 this morning.

Blarg.

Warning: quitting smoking story ahead.

I was able to quit after many failed tries. My boss at the time gave me the secret. You give up one cigarette at a time starting with the usual first one of the day. In my case it was right after breakfast with my cup of tea.
You don't light up then and you wait as long as possible before having one. For the rest of the day smoke as usual. Everyday from then on postpone lighting up. When I had eliminated the after supper one, I just stopped.
Every one is different. I'm oral and chewed gum, toothpicks or sucked on hard candy to keep from eating. My husband uses cigs to sooth his nerves and without them he is a monster. Two packs a day for 50 years and no lung problems.

If I Had A Witty Name You Would Love Me: I was always dreading when I would add a comment to this thread.

Me, being the smrt person I am decided that if I attached a big stick to the cats leashes (yes, our cats were leash cats) it would throw off there ...

That is a beautiful cat. So glad to hear the stories. Sorry to hear he is gone.

I keep waking up with scratches on my legs. I just reached down to scratch my leg and ended up having to clean up quite a bit of blood. I think I know who's responsible, Juno likes to sleep on my legs and I'm guessing Morticia jumps on the bed and Juno goes flying, using my legs for leverage. I went around and clipped everybody's claws so hopefully that will help.

What if the comeback is, "dog owners are better than cat owners"?

The same as I said before. You have a right to your opinion, even if I personally disagree with you.

The only people who are unwelcome in Caturday threads are trolls.

Personally I don't think those who post pictures of their pets are better than those who don't. In fact, if someone prefers to just comment in the thread or post pictures from sites like icanhascheezburger.com instead, well that's fine too. And there will always be people who like/love dogs more than cats. Nothing wrong with that either.
