FIP SUCKS. BIG TIME.

I'm mostly a lurker but had to post to say sorry to James72.

Sorry, James72.

Then I saw Witty Name & Scruffinator lost their friends, too. So sorry to them as well. And any one else that loses a buddy. I was devastated when I lost my kitty (Kinsey-19 yoa) and it hurt so much that I said I'd never get another so as to avoid that pain. Then I looked in the Animal Control Officer's truck & met a sweet, beautiful kitty no one claimed after 30 days.... Now I have Miss K.I.T.K.A.. What can you do, right?!?!?!

We have love to give and there are always kitties who will need our love... that's the cycle... but it doesn't mean we will forget the kitties that have touched our lives. I wish I could convince my brother he needs to let go of his "loss" pain and let another pet into his life but he's adamant no more pain will occur. And now a picture...

Tnx for overnite posts/comments.
predle, there's a guys' quartet call themselves Fred who were BHS champs in 1999 (no, didn't recall that, had to go get QT champs Excel file from BHS which I may find useful later).
NHOcean, good on you for adopting Miss KITKA.
ruatan, you need to convince your bro he's now causing more pain by not taking in another or 2.

Staying in vein of predle pix, she fetched this on unrecorded date. Reasonable silent Good Meowning.
Have a bit more than half of the women's amateur radio mag yet to transcr, so will be in & out between here & there. Pl & I went to flannel PJs last nite; there's light blanket for the cold he's trying to kick as Piiki moves onto & off of us to suit her fancy.  Her fancy determines reliability as warmth spot source,

Totally non-cat related, but I'm going to do it anyway. I've shared it on facebook and would ask that you help by sharing this in every way possible

No need. What you're going through is hard - don't put any additional pressure on yourself. You are among folks who understand.

Guilt is an unfair weapon to use to convince someone of something they are not certain of. This kind of attitude is what leads to shelters getting "returns."

Sorry kevinboehm, you're too right. Guilt appears to be my middle name, has been almost forever.

Thanks, laulauja....6 months +/- after my Kinsey, I DID NOT WANT another furry friend. Well, I did not want to fall in love again to most likely lose my friend in my lifetime. I tried and tried to find the owner of that emerald-eyed, fluffy little girl. No dice. Then, because it was cold in that cage in the ACO's garage, she had a field trip to my house. Game Over. SHE gave me the guilt trip when I was ready--hope that happens for your brother, ruatan.:) The *right* kind of guilt trip. (Right, Kevinboehm?! ;) )

This may be the only foto in the magazine not rendered in colour on the centre spread or cover! Except for portrait pix of district chairs. Carole depictured is chair for 9th distr, IN IL WI, has been ill with a balance disorder for a while. On Aug 6 she & spouse Al adopted Spike, 10 mo old Cairn Terrier mix, from their local shelter in Ft Wayne IN. Carole wrote that Spike's a real snuggle bunny & assists with her recovery.
They'd been dog-less since late Jan when their beagle Bailey died of congestive heart failure he'd had for 10 months. They didn't know how old Bailey was, as he'd also come from the shelter.
I'm not this far transcribing yet, but figured I'd share this at some point. Also e Carole to thank them for being adopters.

Sorry for your loss.

I was kinda busy yesterday. My 2 older sisters and I had a party for our soon-to-be 90 y/o Dad at the local Audubon Center. Had a great time; about 70 people showed up.

My niece's son has a turtle. When they got Michaelangelo he was about 6" around he is now 16" around.
Every time he gets a new tank he grows into it. I told my niece to just fence off part of the basement, get him a kiddie pool and heat lamp and let him go. After 5 years of new tanks I think she really starting to think about because it would be cheaper in the long run.

Hi Caturday! Wow, lots of sads this weekend. My deep condolences to everyone. I just made both my kitties promise they'd stay with me forever. That should work out, right?

Anyway, I can't remember if I shared this one a few weekends back, but it's the only newest one I have on photobucket. Benners!
