(My Fox DC)   So, we're forced to buy ObamaCare, which is signed by a president who smokes, ran by a treasury chief who didn't pay taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that's broke. What the blank could possibly go wrong?   (myfoxdc.com) divider line 105

The only thing that can possibly go wrong here is clicking on a Fox link.

Not having health insurance and getting seriously sicks seems much worse.

Obamacare is not an insurance policy.....you have to buy insurance of your choice and new rules limiting how much said insurance companies can fark you over are in place.

2012-10-04 10:45:56 AM
Actually 30 million people without insurance getting seriously sick (because they couldn't go to the doctor when they were only a little sick) and winding up at the emergency room, not paying, and leaving the tax payers with the people seems much MUCH worse!

Buy ObamaCare? Come back when you know what you're talking about.

2012-10-04 10:46:37 AM
I wonder how many people look at their bank accounts and say to themselves, "I have nothing to worry about. I can TOTALLY afford to have cancer."

2012-10-04 10:46:44 AM
Rather than have a broke country finance it, we can just...*checks notes*...let them go to the emergency room.

A) This thread.

With that much lead in editorializing why even leave it open for comments? Subby seems to have covered all the bases. Why even discuss?

Forced to buy Obamacare? What does that mean?

Is there a public option now?

Sweet.

A first world country that can't provide basic healthcare to all its citizens seems much worse.

I don't mind paying for the healthcare of people who can't afford it. I put it in the same category as having my taxes go towards education for all those years I didn't have a kid of my own: a country where people are healthy is good for all of us.

I do mind paying for the healthcare of people who won't afford it. Yes, I know you think you're perfectly healthy/indestructible. You're not.

Pretty sure Geithner doesn't and won't have anything to do with your insurance company, Obamacare or not.

Obamacare isn't an insurance policy, you don't buy into it. The only difference i've seen before and after it passed is now I can't be dropped for pre existing conditions, I get a nice yearly refund, and somethings are now covered with no copay that were not before.

When you don't care for beer, no, they do not at all.
I have had someone, seriously, try to explain to me that the US economy collapsing with the banks would have been good because "people needing to fight to survive would make them appreciate life and God more"

"Buy ObamaCare"? What is this ObamaCare policy of which you speak? Who do I talk to to buy ObamaCare? Right now, I'm insured through Aetna and I'd much rather have a public insurer like I did back in Canada, so, come on, tell me who the fark I talk to about this ObamaCare policy.

spiderpaz: Not having health insurance and getting seriously sicks seems much worse.

Or getting booted from your insurance coz now you have cancer and your insurance company doesn't want to pay for treatment.
Or being a twenty-something just getting into (or even OUT OF) college and you have to find your OWN insurance instead of being on your parents'.
Or having your premiums not necessarily going to treatments, but to payroll, "seminars," and other boons for industry professionals.

And so on.

Let's not forget that Robamneycare was originally proposed by THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION!!! But we wouldn't want to be bothered by inconvenient facts, now would we?

/that's directed at Fox and "conservatives," btw, not you

Antimatter: I get a nice yearly refund

...if your insurance company doesn't spend up to 80% (or whatever it is) solely on paying for health care. I think it's great, actually.

/my insurance company met its requirement, so no refund for me. :/

Obamacare isn't "ran" by a treasury chief, it is "run", and it isn't even run by a treasury chief. Also we don't have a treasury chief, stupidmitter.

Come back after a civics course, a grammar lesson and much, much less cognitive dissonance.

As a Mormon, Mitt Romney does not smoke, drink booze, or drink coffee. This automatically makes him the ideal president.

President Obama's smoking habits help to decide whether or not Obamacare will result in more people getting health care? Is he going around shotgunning Newports into people's mouths or something?

I thought that was for private insurance. What's this "Obamacare" we can all purchase that's run by our "Treasury Chief"?

Why not just continue to mooch off of my health insurance premiums by going to the ER and not paying the bill when you are sick ? I mean you could finance a Dodge Ram Dually for the cost of those health insurance premiums you are forced to buy

You make 400% of the poverty line and you're too poor to afford insurance?

You need to get a budget, man.
