With all that was said last night.... Im really thinking Romney might have blew his edge with the Anti-PBS stance.

Everyone says he "won", but that one comment seems to stand out over any policy statements, so who knows, right?

Agreed 100%. That was the only remark anyone actually remembers. Farkin' PBS? Really? They run on like $20.

All I heard for an hour was "Im going to say the complete opposite of everything Ive ever said before, and act like the other guy is crazy for calling me out".

I got bored and switched to South Park at 10.

That's BS and you know it. Everyone knows we have to borrow $5 trillion every day from China so the Corporation for Socialist Broadcast can keep indoctrinating our children. Ever notice how Elmo is red, like as in Communism?

Romney and the Democrats won last night. Romney gave better face time but he also pushed liberal agendas for the most part. "Oh, you've reached across the aisle as governor to have democrats push through socialized healthcare? No, that just makes you a liberal, honey".

My brother freaking loved Elmo growing up. My grandmother totally fed into his Elmo love, too, and got him all sorts of Elmo stuff and would watch Elmo with him, and would have him talk about Elmo whenever we went to visit her at work with all the other office ladies. Even now, I still have a strong affinity for Elmo (and can still sing along with the Elmo's World song, last I heard), and my brother is 16.

/Thankfully I never worked at Sesame Place to destroy that affinity...

It's not really Elmo's fault. He was a popular character, and the geniuses running Sesame Street decided to rebuild the show around him because they fell into some bullshiat line of thinking that kids have to have long blocks of content spoonfed to them, and that the oldschool Sesame Street variety show way of presenting the show in segments of varying lengths was wrong.

Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, is the person that decides content. That screams shenanigans. He forcefed his own character to the children. The show is horrible and the voice is like Fran Drescher's dying velociraptor voice. I will be so glad when my kid is out of that. I am burning...everything.

Ah, but if you do a bit of research, his days as a Producer come only after Sesame Street is changed to be more of the Elmo Show.

So, odds are the people in charge decide to change things because of toy sales, then the guy doing the character gets a bone tossed his way.

yep. and elmo is popular because kids love him. i don't know WHY they do but they do. when my kid was 5 months old he was in love with elmo, it was one of the first things he instantly recognized. elmo makes him smile every time. perhaps because he's red so he catches the eye faster

Yes, I saw that. It's a chicken and the egg thing. I think the character is too one dimensional to allow to have that much air time. Have you ever noticed the song at the end of Elmo's World is the same time with just the theme replacing all the lyrics? It's like they aren't even trying.
