And for the 16th year in a row, Yankees in playoffs.

Big ol yawn from the rest of the country on that one.

let's just make them world series champions. clearly, no one is better than they are.

ManateeGag: let's just make them world series champions. clearly, no one is better than they are.

I agree with the first part, disagree with the second. The Yankees aren't the best team in baseball, and if they progress through the playoffs, they'll be playing better teams. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy the challenge.

If the Orioles can get past Yu Darvish tomorrow night, they'll draw the Yankees in the ALDS. Baltimore was 6-3 at Yankees Stadium this season.

The Bronx Bombers are due to win it all. Do you folks realize that there are two-year-old boys who've lived their entire lives not having seen a Yankees championship?

It's the "they weren't trying" excuse. Although their pitching last night certainly wasn't spectacular. Are you a Dbacks fan? IPKs tough luck loss last night cost me a boatload of Fn cash. Was the rest of his team trying?

The Red Sox really quit in that last game. Must've been like spring training for the Yanks.

No way do I want to see the Yankees have to play Baltimore. Just because of Thome alone. He's messed with the Yankees too many times. Not quite Buhner-esque, but I don't want to see them have to face Baltimore and him.

2012-10-04 02:14:16 PM
I'm a fool for many reasons but laying money on the Sox last night tops it. Fool I was to think they might get it up to play spoiler for their arch rival. I'm glad I don't ever bet much. Not on "from the heart" wagers anyway.

im not really sure who i would like the yanks to play in the alds. they havent played well in sept. and the o's just have their number for some reason. but then i dont want to see them play texas either. hopefully it will be a good playoff whoever they meet.

kinda sucked the red sox had such a bad season. takes away from the games a lil bit when playing them. hope they can get things together next year or so. kinda weird having the O's and Rays as your rivals

Not for nothing but that shirt pisses me off. Why is there a silhouette of NY State? There are Yankee fans everywhere, esp in NJ and CT. Their football teams play in NJ for farks sake. And that little dingleberry hanging off the bottom right? The people who live there are Mets fans.

Honest question: did the Orioles actually do anything to the Sox other than just not being the punching bag they usually are?

It was a rebuilding year. They had a ton of injuries. They ran out of gas. They... they had a flat tire. They didn't have enough money for cab fare. Their uniforms didn't come back from the cleaner's. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole their bus. There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! It wasn't their fault! I swear to God!

Yeah. They had a tough one, but when you spend $146 million in payroll you expect to be a top 20 team and deserve the pointing and laughing if you aren't.

It is a standard design. The Nationals version has a silhouette of the District of Columbia despite the fact that 60 percent of the Nationals' attendance comes from Virginia.

That's all well and good, but if you're pointing and laughing because of the payroll, you haven't been paying attention. You're probably going to want to tune in to Boston media the next couple of months.
And I really hope Lucchino has a one-way ticket out of Boston this week.

I probably won't want to do that, but I understand that they dumped a lot of payroll this season once they realized that they were screwed either way.
