bel4sucks: UNAUTHORIZED FINGER: qorkfiend: Tim Tebow will be president someday.

Scary but not inconceivable.

He was born in the Philippines, so it is inconceivable.

1) Tebow was born in Makati City in the Philippines, to American parents who were serving as Baptist missionaries at the time.

2) The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term "natural born" citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship "by birth" or "at birth", either by being born "in" the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at birth".

JohnBigBootay: xynix: There are a lot of reasons why some QBs have shiat stats.

But the NUMBER ONE reason some qb's have shiat stats is that they suck.

Not according to CJ.15k.
He says his stats are entirely the result of the Titans O-line. And that's why he gets $50M and his entire O-line doesn't.

For everyone who praises Tebow with all that "all he does is win" garbage need to also stand up and proclaim Trent Dilfer as one of the greats.

I will do that. Dilfer gets no respect, and should. All that guy did was win a Superbowl. Same can be said for Jim McMahon, and Terry Bradshaw. Those guys were simply efficient QBs that were smart enough not to try anything too fancy, and let the defense work. I'll take those six Super Bowl rings.

ATRDCI: Jubeebee: Look at the Texans

Yeah the defense made it possible to win, but Schaub has been playing some GREAT football. Last 8 games

142/215 for 1835 and 12TD with 2 INT

/sorry the point is still valid, just peeved at the jack offs here in Houston who complained we didn't get Vince, complained we didn't get rid of Schaub when he was putting up monster stats with a defense that had more holes than Akin's logical thought process and biatched that we spend the money to get Peyton this year (and would have had to give up half our talent to stay under the cap,)

As a completely outside observer, I haven't seen Schaub get disrespected for anything other than being made of glass for the last 4 years. He's regularly top 5 in yardage, TDs, you name it. Schaub to A.Johnson has been money for years, and Foster has been wrecking it for a few seasons now. If Texans fans were biatching about Schaub, I would invite them to look into the QB situations of MIA, CLE, OAK, and JAX over a comparable timespan.

It's simple...all the dumbasses in this town are those flooding the Texans threads and all 4 sports stations...as soon as Vince Young is fired from the next team, they are calling and typing for the Texans to bring him in. "Yo, dawg, all he be doing is winning" It's the same thing as Tebow...whatever he rubs his balls on, it because a success. And that's their only argument when many throw stats at them, at gameplay in the NFL...and the fact that both succeeded when they had good running games, and damn good defenses.

So they always call shows to hate on Schaub...that he can't get it done, and there needs to be a change in QB. And they always bring up names of released or unhappy QBs in the league as being the answer. Yet, those QBs go elsewhere and find little to no success.

You take the good with the bad with Schaub...and if Houston is going to win a Superbowl with this regime's current run, it's going to be with Schaub.

/Go Texans

Arlington is not that far from Dallas. Landover is not that far from DC. Depending on where you are NYC, East Rutherford is a pretty long trip, and expensive if you use the Verrazano Narrows bridge.

East Rutherford is a 20 minute bus ride from Port Authority in midtown Manhattan. Yeah, if you're coming from Queens or Brooklyn it's a longer trip, but the same can be said for people in NW DC going to Landover.

In any event, my point remains the same. Suburban stadia are not uncommon, and teams retain the larger city's identity.

From what I understand from seeing as much on Fark, aren't the Jets one big media circus in NYC anyway? Why does it matter if they do something else, they're still gonna deserve a goddamned big top over Met Life Stadium when they play.

I guess if you have a big league. Maybe. I'd counter with this. Unless you just have a roster spot that's utterly useless I'd consider the fact he had some absolute stinkers, fantasy and otherwise, in his last 5 starts last year. That and no matter how versatile you are, the TEAM has to score points for the fantasy player to make a lot of points. Do you see any scenario in which it is likely the jets score many points with tebow under center?

See the thing about Tebow is, he might not be the best traditional QB in the world. But after 4 quarters of him and the running back getting 4 yards at a time, your defense starts to 'cheat up'. Then, instead of all the complex things NFL defenses can throw at you; you now get to look at defenses "cheating up" like this with no deep safety etc.

The 49ers, and not totally inconceivably, the Raiders as well, will be playing in Santa Clara in a couple of years. Santa Clara is over 40 miles away to the south. If Tim Tebow and his running backs had gotten 4 yards at a time every play they'd have scored on every possession that didn't have a turnover, Denver would have won their last twelve games, they'd be the super bowl champs, he'd still be the starter, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

No one is going to be able to QB with that those receivers, and that running back. You can't throw to guys who are incapable of getting open. What are they expecting, Tebow's running game to be so feared that he can find open receivers the rare times he dares to throw?
