Not a surprise.
I'd say it was the end of an era, but that happened when he retired the first time. I wasn't going to work for him this time. Looking forward to seeing Hamilton in the Mercedes to see what he can squeeze out of the thing next season.

Lego_Addict: It was a good time in F1, probably the last good times, one can argue.

I'd say things are pretty good now, three top shelf teams, a few more teams nipping at their heels, exciting races.

cgraves67: I liked Schumacher before he retired the first time. When he came back, he didn't race like the same driver he was before. I don't know if the motorcycle accident ruined his nerve or just the different team and car made the difference.

I'm a fan of Hamilton these days.

oryx: His comeback with Mercedes was just sad. Mercedes isn't a top flight team and Schumacher wasn't even the best driver on the team.

Schumacher was hurt by the limiting of on-track testing. Most teams use simulators now, and Schumi has admitted he suffers from simulator sickness.

Trapper439: Never warmed to him. Thought he blatantly cheated on more than one occasion.

But I'll willingly concede that a big part of the reason I thoroughly disliked him and thought he was a cheat was that when he was at the peak of his powers he was virtually unbeatable. When you are that good you attract haters*.

Ten or twenty years from now I'll probably be missing him and telling youngsters who never saw him that they missed out big time.

That's because Rossi is one of the nicest guys in sports.

Schumi on the other hand.... Not sad to see him go. Again.

Some say, he was born with two sets of eyes, and when he watches the pot on the stove, it boils instantly. All we know is he's called The Stig.
