Indeed.. Whenever any girl hears that it's one of my favorite movies I always get bonus points. It's funny though that I don't necessarily see it as a girly flick.. Plus RIP Andre!

Yes, but what does that have to do with a picture of him juxtaposed with a chubby lesb....ohhh, I see.

I would say the worst thing about the movie is the name (I know I know, it's named after the book). When I first heard someone wanted to watch 'The Princess Bride' in elementary school, all the boys fought against it. Finally we caved when the teacher said our pre-concieved opinions on this movie didn't matter and we were watching it anyway.

Needless to day we were fighting imaginary R.O.U.S.s at recess and quoting Inigo by the afternoon. Everyone loved it. And everyone I've known since then has also loved it or decided to watch it then fall in love with it.

Subs must have seen us closing in, which might account for his panicking in error. Unless I'm wrong, and I am never wrong, we are headed dead into a quote fest.

I'd still bang Robin Wright.

There was some redlit article about a sequel, and all I could think was "So, they'll just get The Big Show to play the son of Andre's character?"

/never seen the movie.

FirstNationalBastard: /never seen the movie.

Well then, stick around. I'm sure the full script will have been quoted here by the time we're done. Then you won't even need to see it!

Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme.
Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time.
Vizzini: Enough of that.
Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead.
Vizzini: No more rhymes now, I mean it.

its one of the most perfect movies ever made... something for everyone.

and quite frankly folks?. if I may be so crass?

damn thing is a friggen leg spreader

gents, if you can get into a position to invite a lady friend over for dinner a movie, and if you are even mildly confident in punching out a simple pasta dish, and a decent batch of hand pop popcorn and have the forsight to put this movie on? yer in like the Flynn that wesley is loosly based off oof

if you know what I'm talking about...

and I think you do.

Ladies? there is no man in the world that can turn down the princess bride. it has everything.. action, adventure, true love, andre the giant.
if they piss on the idea? then they must be sent on their way, there is no redemption for it.

and pissing on the idea is not someone who's never seen it and doesn't want to.. and that mythical creature doesn't exist.. I'm talking about someone who has seen it and goes.. "meh" at the mention.

these people must be dismissed from anyone's life. for they are hollow inside, and only evil can fill such a void.

When I was in engineering school in the 90's, the faculty pub showed movies on Wednesday afternoons. TPB was a once-per-semester fixture, and was always standing-room only. Hundreds of engineering students crowded into the bar to watch it.

/Is Robin Wright getting progressively hotter? Is she Benjamin-Buttoning, hotness-wise? (The answer is yes).

We've always said to zobear jr. that any s.o. she entertains must love and be able to quote that movie.

Also I think a great interview question is: "Can you name one of the classic blunders?"

I would definitely work with anyone who can answer that question correctly.

/will have to watch TPB this weekend!

The Princess Bride is one of the few movies better than the book. Not to say that the book wasn't good, but the movie took everything great about the book and made it better.

The sword fight between Inigo and The Man in Black is still, in my opinion, the best sword fight I've ever seen in a movie and has yet to be topped.

/WRONG. Your ears you keep and I'll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God! What is that thing," will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

When I was 15/16, my gf/first love forced me to watch this movie.

"Princess Bride? Ugh."
"I know, but I promise you'll like it."

/still in my top ten.

Man I just saw this movie today after dinner and just showing the wife the anniversary picture shot by the cast. And I still haven't found the thread made by the farker who changed the spouses' text to quotes from the film. Some of them were hilarious.

My favorite Andre the giant dialogue:
Vizzini: Finish him. Finish him, your way.
Fezzik: Oh good, my way. Thank you Vizzini... what's my way?
Vizzini: Pick up one of those rocks, get behind a boulder, in a few minutes the man in black will come running around the bend, the minute his head is in view, hit it with the rock.
Fezzik: My way's not very sportsman-like.

Fred's awol from another PB reunion. And the story lists the actors, including the dead ones, but he isn't even mentioned.

What's his beef? Was he molested on the set or something?

You get bonus points for liking a movie that 80% of the total population and 100% of your age-group likes?

Wow, you really take risks with your dating life and go after the ones with high standards, don't you?

//Next you'll impress your dates by liking "having fun", "a bunch of different music", and respiration. A riddle wrapped in an enigma, you are.
//To be fair, my favorite film is Godzilla: King of the monsters, so no actual hate, just doing the obligatory.
