If I were Rumsfeld (or Feith or Wolfowitz or Cheney or any of the main and supporting actors in the Bush Administration), I'd thank God every day that I wasn't in jail or strung up on a lamp post somewhere for the lies I told in getting America into a useless war that has costs thousands of lives, trillions of dollars, and who knows how much prestige. The last f*ckin' thing I'd do is think that anyone gave a damn about what came out of my mouth in regards to foreign policy.

Rumsfeld...Rumsfeld...why is that name familiar?

WASHINGTON, July 7 - A secret military operation in early 2005 to capture senior members of Al Qaeda in Pakistan's tribal areas was aborted at the last minute after top Bush administration officials decided it was too risky and could jeopardize relations with Pakistan, according to intelligence and military officials.

The target was a meeting of Qaeda leaders that intelligence officials thought included Ayman al-Zawahri, Osama bin Laden's top deputy and the man believed to run the terrorist group's operations.

But the mission was called off after Donald H. Rumsfeld, then the defense secretary, rejected an 11th-hour appeal by Porter J. Goss, then the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, officials said. Members of a Navy Seals unit in parachute gear had already boarded C-130 cargo planes in Afghanistan when the mission was canceled, said a former senior intelligence official involved in the planning.

Eat a bag o' dicks, Don.

It wasn't lying. The movie did spark protests. But they gathered intel and learned there were planned attacks already that were not at all part of the protests. So it wasn't blatant lying, the blatant lying is only on your part

Oh...wait, I thought your ilk weren't "blaming" anyone but the extremists for those deaths. Keep dancing on those bodies.

You responded to a different poster, that wasn't me (you know..the original poster you replied to). King to you though, sir.

Mikey1969: ScouserDuck: I'm saying (as I've said many times before) that he's blatantly lying and blaming this whole shiat fest on a movie that had nothing to do with anything.

Except that it did. That's why there were protesters in the street in the first place. The terrorists just took advantage of a chaotic situation to launch an attack that they just needed an opportunity for. But hey, keep that tunnel vision well tuned.

That's not true. The whole thing was an outright attack. It was not a protest regarding a YouTube clip.

Prison? For doing what exactly?

Authorizing the use of waterboarding on prisoners, and doing nothing to stop it while in a position to do so.

previous convictions for waterboarding

You have a problem with waterboarding? Hahahaha!
OK I'll trade you your pussy waterboarding charges for impeachment of Obama for violating the War Powers Act.

No, the protests at all the American embassies was in response to the video that local media there reported as "sponsored by the US government"

False according to who? *reads your link*

Oh you are taking the word of the Libyan President... whos only evidence is "the video was around for a while, people would have protested earlier"

Layers. I will take the word of the president of the Farking country it happened in over yours. Our own state department has entirely let go of the videos role at this point. You're holding onto old lies.

Oddly enough, John Boener declared that Obama had not violated the War Powers Act and scuttled the lawsuit. Doesn't really matter. It's a civil charge, not a criminal one.

As for the waterboarding, are you agreeing with me? Regardless of how "pussy" you think they are, we've convicted people of it before, including soldiers in war time.

Just admit your proof is complete bullshiat and based off no factual evidence. Then we can get somewhere.

The State Department first thought the videos provoked the attack on the embassy but the PROTESTS continue to be the fault of the video going "viral" in that region of the world.

Keep herping that derp, and putting faith in a Libyan President who himself has no facts to back it up. You right wingers sure love that blind faith

Well, technically, sure, it's a bit embarrassing, and unfortunate we didn't catch the plot before it happened.

Still, we appear to have found the error and established the real story in less than a week and so far as I know we haven't gotten in a stupid brush war over it... so, yeah, basically what everyone else in the thread is saying. STFU, Rumsfeld.

In no way did you discredit it. You only said that I was taking the word of the leader of the country it happened in. Just because you don't like it doesn't discredit it. You have the logic skills of a fundie.

Obama violated the War Powers Act. Boehner is a pussy and didn't want to be labeled a racist. As far as Muslims? Who cares? Waterboard them, shock them, put glass swizzle sticks up their urethras, then pound their dicks with a rubber hammer. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Besides, we probably did this under the auspices of Rendition, in a foreign country. They knock our buildings down, the farking gloves come off.

It's discredited because the President of Libya admits he personally has no evidence to show the cause of the protests

This is your only evidence and you're sitting here claiming victory and logic?

Your schtick is old and tired, bro. Go somewhere else like Free Republic where nobody questions what you say.

September 28: Statement by Shawn Turner, spokesman for Director of National Intelligence James Clapper:
"In the immediate aftermath, there was information that led us to assess that the attack began spontaneously following protests earlier that day at our embassy in Cairo. We provided that initial assessment to executive branch officials and members of Congress, who used that information to discuss the attack publicly and provide updates as they became available. Throughout our investigation we continued to emphasize that information gathered was preliminary and evolving. As we learned more about the attack, we revised our initial assessment to reflect new information indicating that it was a deliberate and organized terrorist attack carried out by extremists."

Not a mixture. They revised their stance..from spontaneous reaction to YouTube clip..to planned attack.

The only thing up for more proof is when we knew. The sad thing is when it was the movie's fault the info was all over the place. As this administrate slowly backtracks there is very little public press. But hold onto the info you got a week ago if it makes you feel better.

Btw...I don't want to spoil anything for you..but it turns out the duke lacrosse players were innocent. I know you wouldn't think it from the initial report..but the truth initially got out and the DA ended up getting into a lot of trouble.

That has nothing to do with the protests, that was the attack on the embassy. The protests at the handful of embassies was in regards to the video

I said stop posting, you're an embarrassment

Projection set to stun!

If you think torturing innocent Muslims because other Muslims attacked on 9/11 is patriotic then you would indeed be immature and living under the protective bubble. My guess is some military welfare job with a desk and government paycheck

You.

Not being in jail or being ridden out of town on a rail after being tarred and feathered.
