Major hits, no, but his cover of "Always Something There to Remind Me" made the top 40 and he had a few other charting hits.

I had 'Take a Letter' as my wife's e-mail tone for a while. Nobody got it. It was just the "Take a letter Maria, address it to my wife." part.
