☑ Lose best defensive player for the season
☑ Lose best offensive player for the season
Insert Timmysprinkles into starting lineup, thereby breaking the seventh seal and ushering in an unholy age of death, suffering, and Mitt Romney's leadership.

The Texans are going to destroy them.

I hope they yank Sanchez out and put Tebow in. Watt hasn't had Christian blood in a while and he's starting to look hungry

Sanchez isnt great but the Jets have done him no favors.

Being the "Best Offensive Player" on the Jets is like winning first prize in a leper colony beauty pageant.

Maybe they just need Mike Greenberg to spend more time talking about the Jets. That would be awesome.

grinding_journalist: ...because two players were the reason the Jets had a chance, and now they don't. Just those two guys.

Because no one or two players ever made that much of a difference to a team. Just ask the Colts.

Unless your point was that the Jets never had a chance to begin with which I wholeheartedly agree with.

After signing Aaron Berry for Revis, they should just sign TO or Ocho for Holmes and just watch the team implode.

Tough break, little brother. You were *this* close to owning this town.

Oh wait, no you weren't. Wallow in your miserable lives, and thank your coach for making you a target of Giants fan scorn. You could have just kept quiet and been ignored, but NOOOOOOO. Deal with it.

Woody Johnson.

Obviously any receiver that couldn't make the Jaguars' roster is the missing piece of the puzzle.

With Tebow as the starting QB, I would watch every moment of every Jets game, press conference, and ESPN coverage. It would be GLORIOUS.

The leper colony beauty pageant was pretty good until the host asked everyone to give the winner a hand. That was awkward.

That was indeed my original point, though I feel like in football, the addition of a single player makes the least amount of difference, as compared to hockey/basketball/baseball. (Unless it's a QB, but then again, the Colts didn't "only" lose Manning; they lost defensive starters and some of their O-Line.) A WR/RB/TE/etc? Those holes can generally be filled.

It's nice to go to ganggreen.com just to see all the members there post in full panic mode. Watching the Jets fans there go at each other is like watching an animal eat its young.

Sanchez could probably be a decent QB if he just left the Jets and went to an organization who knows how to properly groom a QB.

I can't stand Rex Ryan and can't wait for the press conference finally announcing his firing.

How badly did Revis and Holmes piss off Tebow? He's obviously not praying for them to be healed, so it must have been pretty bad.

I don't know why or how, but I think the Jets will beat Houston.

2012-10-03 12:41:56 PM
Hey now, Rex Ryan molded the Jets from a boring, mediocre team to a boring, mediocre team that sometimes can overachieve and be very loud and abrasive while doing so.

LarryDan43: I don't know why or how, but I think the Jets will beat Houston.

I would've thought that, but the Jets are just terrible. This isn't like the Patriots who were out for blood against the Bills. This is a bad team who needs to fix their internal problems before they try to take anything out on another team. This week will be filled with anger and blame at each other, not the opposing team.

Matt Barkley has replaced Mark Sanchez as a starter once in his life already...

That other loud sucking sound you hear is Rex Ryan 2 chins deep in a quart of Oberweis.

Chaz Schilens looked like he could be a halfway decent receiver at times for the Raiders. He was just never, ever healthy for more than 2 games in a row. They can insert Schilens into Holmes' role. Then he can have a Lisfranc injury, too.

Trading up to draft a solid third-rounder with the number five pick sure was a nice gesture, though.

Or: they could've been just like us. Handled their business, have a football guy as a GM and not a beancounter, have a head coach that just did his job without any earthshaking pronouncements...and maybe, just maybe, they would be a playoff team.

Yeah, I have no confidence either.

The Jets aren't THAT bad. They have a defense. At least kind of.

Tough-ish schedule means they'll wind up with 6-8 wins, is my guess

Although really, who knows where their offense is coming from. Shonn Greene is useless.

Got a hunch they play Houston tight.

The personnel decisions in the offseason were lousy because the management is lousy, and so here we are.

Suck it, Fireman Ed.

When did they lose Tebow?

2012-10-03 01:20:10 PM
Woody Johnson is another silver spoon billionaire lost in a fairy tale world because he's never had to live in the real world. I think the Tebow trade was his idea. He told the GM to make it happen. People who believe in that god stuff think that god will reward them as long as they do whatever they think god wants them to do.

Fark, I hate the Jets. I love watching them stumble around like a drunk Alzheimers victim year in, year out.

Good teams can recover form that. In 08 after losing Brady and Harrison, that Pat's pulled off an 11-5 record.

I'll agree that losing a running back isn't a huge deal, but a number of teams have single players that they bank their entire seasons on. Imagine the Bengals offense without AJ Green, or the Patriots defense without Vince Wilfork. Yeah, the Ravens have gotten by without Terrell Suggs just fine, but the Steelers regress more when Hair Polamalu is out than when Rapey Ben is out. It's not just QBs who are important.
