Since I know a couple of lesbians in real life, no. I did not click.

In my head, I had this image of two lesbians in a really loud domestic dispute near the courthouse and the justices rushing to the window so they can listen in.

We need pics of the lezzies to decide who to support or mock.

I sure hope they don't butcher this case. They may have to build a metaphorical dyke if they don't to be overflowed with more cases the same as the one in TFA.

Who cares about a couple of florida lesbians? Real lesbians rarely look or behave like the porno lesbians. You really don't want to see that. Shudder.

You shut your whore mouth. I use porn as my basis for reality in all facets of life.

Why does the lesbian relationship change the way that the state law works? One woman donated an egg to another woman, signing a consent form in the process. That consent form had to have detailed how egg donation works in Florida, right? So...what's the question? The time to challenge the law...to which the donor consented...was prior to donating, and providing consent.

Since you know a couple of lesbians in real life, you might want to. This is relevant to their interests.

The question is the intent of the law. The law was written to protect parents of children who use eggs donated by a woman who later may have remorse over doing so (or just sees money in having a kid) and now wants visitation rights and partial custody.

seems fishy

Fun fact, it is possible to have six possible parents in a custody dispute involving donated ova/sperm and surrogates.

hdhale: The question is the intent of the law.

Intent doesn't matter so much, though, except in intent of the words used ("arms" vs. "ordinance", for example). Absent an adoption process, the law sounds pretty cut-and-dry.

THIS and then some. Lesbodians get such a pass from dudes just based on pron. The flannel-wearing, mullet-sporting, man-hating bulldog variety outnumber the attracitve hey-me-and-my-girlfriend-need-a-third kind about 99 to 1.

Meanwhile hetero guys distain homosexual men even though the gheys want nothing more than help us update our wardrobe, cook a meal, or rearrange our furniture in exchange for some light petting.

That they were in a relationship makes it a no-brainer for me. She donated her egg fully expecting that she was looking forward to watch a child, who was genetically hers, grow up around her.

SomethingToDo: She donated her egg fully expecting that she was looking forward to watch a child, who was genetically hers, grow up around her.

Sounds like she should have adopted the kid, then, because the may have intended one thing, but she signed something that allowed for another.

Let me just say that these matters would be resolved without litigation if the parties were to enter into non-binding arbitration requiring the use of a modified wooden toilet roll holder.

If the donor cared for the child and it was her egg, she should have access to the child.

The law may of course see it differently, of course.

Child support issues, visitation, custody -- what a mess.

BOTH of these and then some. My daughter goes to Smith College and I can tell you the reality ≠ the fantasy. NTTAWWT but I'll never make Pr0n-based assumptions again.

Since this is playing out in Florida, the end is not much in doubt.
