Question: Why the f*ck are they leaving Holland out there? The Rangers are still only three runs down, this is not out of reach for them yet, so why do they want Holland to keep doing what he's doing?

What's all this, then?! I leave work 5-1 Texas, now 8-5 Oakland? Wow!

He needs to hit some HRs to keep Cabrera from winning the MVP

/sorry, carrying over from the other thread
//no, I don't believe that should matter one way or the other.

Truman Burbank: The Rangers moved into first place on April 9, after their fourth game. They have been in first place following 158 of their 161 completed games.

And they're going to farking finish second.

Fark these gutless wonders.

These Rangers remind me of the late '80's A's. They way underperformed to their capabilities. Those A's completely outclassed the Reds and Dodgers and should have crushed them in the World Series. Two year running the Rangers should have won it and no team has lost two World series in a row and come back to number 3.*

*This is off the top of my head so I'll concede to Google's wisdom when the time comes.

Because Ron Washington sticks with his guys, even when they're shiatting their pants.

Besides, knowing Washington, he'd just bring in Mark Farking Lowe and make things worse.

Yeah, but that's only because there's no club in Buffalo.

There's the Michael Young we've come to know and loathe...

The Bestest: it's not over, folks..

Someone hasn't been watching the Rangers the last month or so.

Runners at second and third. OK, what is the absolute last thing I should do right now? Oh, yeah, ground out to third and force the runners to stay put! Brilliant!

/that may or may not be what Michael Young was just thinking

I love that after 162 games, it literally comes down to the final game of the regular season to determine who wins the AL West.

Go A's

Baseball's a hard game...I don't think talent like Michael Young can do that consciously; it has to flow out of him naturally.

I really thought Texas was going to get a couple there - they WERE in first after all...

So assuming the Rangers lose this, what are their chances in the Wild Card game?
I can't put out of my mind Game 6 of the World Series last year.. how deflating that loss was for them and how dead they looked in Game 7.

I'd actually really love to see who has the worst team RISP, Rangers or the Yankees. I haven't paid a ton of attention to Texas but New York's has been pretty abysmal. If they could hit with RISP the Yankees would have clinched the division like two weeks ago.

It has to be the Yanks. Last night I heard yanks had not won a game when trailing heading into the 9th until Tuesday.

This was discussed in another thread last night, but that would be the A's. That 163rd game for AL East seeding won't matter for tiebreakers; A's with 94 wins would beat either team with tiebreaker scenarios.

One strike away from a title, twice? Yeah, that's going to be deflating. Everyone in Ranger blue knew what was going to happen in Game 7.

As for the wild card, the Rangers would do better against Baltimore, but they'll lose to either one. They just don't give a damn anymore.

You guys are talking like Michael Young was the worst everyday player in baseball this year. He's 145th best. Out of 146. Casey Kotchman, Michael Young sends his gratitude.  Link

Believe it or not, Rangers are 4th best RISP

Gawd I love baseball. I have never been so excited to come home and watch A's Vs Rangers then a NYY and an O's game. If not the Tigers, an O's Vs A's ALCS would be awesome.

I can't speak for Sandor, but I'm not surprised at all - they were in first for so long for a reason. But it was surprising to see the Yankees weren't in the bottom 5.

Thanks for pulling up the numbers. I would have but I'm leaving for trivia.. in 15 minutes.

Well, Cabrera's Triple Crown is pretty safe now. Three outs away for the A's!

If it wasn't for you meddling kids and your googles I would have gotten away with it! Still, seems to be a rare phenomenon. A feat if the Texas could pull it off.

The 8th inning already... I am cautiously optimistic.

2012-10-03 06:26:21 PM
three more outs.

2012-10-03 06:26:23 PM
Big bottom of the 8th is needed, multiple pitcher changes, maybe a replay or two...I almost home and I want to see the 9th.
