I think it's possible he can win it. It depends on how he defends and counterattacks against Obama. First debate doesn't always seal the deal, though. Kerry in 2004 just about won the first debate and then got beaten in the rest.

RogermcAllen: mrshowrules: dahmers love zombie: I promised to include my revisions to the game I wrote above, but rather than post the whole goddamn thing inline, here's just the additions (and their attributions):

Romney mentions that it was the Republicans who ended slavery: 3/5 of your drink (idea courtesy of tudorgurl)

Romney attempts a "zinger": 1 sip, chug if it is at all effective (idea courtesy of MuCow)

Could you number them? Just a suggestion.

That way we can say example: "#22 drink!"

I think you also need a designated caller.

Post count is great, but it really ruins the flow of a thread when you have:

A: Logical point
B: Logical counterpoint
C: ZIIIINGERZZZZZZZ!
D: Drink he said a zinger
E: Drink
F: Oh drink that shiat, what a zinger
A: Logical countercounterpoint
G: ZINGER!!!!
H: oh my heavens, did anyone else just hear that rapier strike delivered
I: ZINGERZIGERDINGER, DRINK
J: drink
K: Logical point
L: drink, zinger!

I offered at one point to be the designated counter, since I don't drink and my count wouldn't be affected by the sips everyone else would take every 15 seconds. Then I realized just how many rules dahmers love zombie listed and realized that it was too much for one man to handle (giggity).

Of course, looking for multiple designated callers who each do a different category would be even more confusing.

Dude, you are going to lose. Romney is going full Michele Bachmann for this debate. He will enrage the Republican base, build them up to an engorged pelvic dementia that only a climax can cure and then urge them to elect him or suffer eternal pain. The media will go "Romney captured the Republican base very well tonight. Governor Romney won the debate."

Sounds like somebody wants to make a wager!

Mentioned this in the other thread, but I've been watching the debates since I was in middle school. It's about time I drank during one. If Romney successfully pulls off a "zinger"- not just some obviously rehearsed, stale, awkward soundbite, but a true and unexpected burn- I'm finishing the whole bottle.

I'm just thinking tomorrow's headlines more than anything. So much has been made of Romney needing to win this. Sure, but I always thought it was because of our lack of viable party alternatives, not that we have too many fringe groups. Seems like most other modern democracies give them way more traction than we do. Doesn't the Pirate Party have actual seats in the Swedish Parliament?

Also worthy of consideration is a primary criticism of Mr. Romney's campaign: he has allegedly not presented any coherent policy concepts. Should he use the opportunity of the debate to remedy that situation, his rating may improve significantly.
