(Huffington Post)   It's only October, and already the conservative talking heads are starting to turn on each other. Someone contact the UFC and get these two a cage match on pay-per-view   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 38

I love watching friendly fire. It's just so collegial.

Conservative cage matches?

C'mon now, The UFC has too much credibility to associate with those losers.

"The way that Reagan did it was authoritative but kind of folksy," he said. "You gotta take the edge off a a little bit ... you gotta do it with more of a twinkle in your eye than a malice."

Romney couldn't pull off folksy if you gave him a pair of denim overalls and a wheat stalk to stick between his teech.

Initially, though, the two seemed in agreement. O'Reilly said Romney should shrug off any potential press criticism and "smack the president like Laura Ingraham would smack him." Ingraham heartily endorsed this.

So they agree on this at least. Romney should hit like a girl.

I'd be all for duking it out if it wasn't for one of them being a woman.

Tell you what... let's make it a mud wrestling event.

I'm pretty sure once they're completely covered, you won't be able to tell the two apart anyway.

Sounds like the woman is a zealot and O'reilly isn't, he's just a douchebag.

o rilly is kind of generous with himself "not malicious"....
perhaps "not satanically possessed in his malice"?

To be fair, getting him to hit anyone other than himself would be a vast improvement.

Once again, out of sheer relativism Bill O'Reilly comes off as reasonable.

"He should talk up his leadership skills at Bain Capital in 2000."
"No, he should show how Obama has no leadership experience to be president."
"No, he should discuss his Healthcare programs while Governor."
"No, he should highlight his pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage stance as Governor."
"No, he needs to discuss Obama's overt marxist muslimness."
"No, he needs to explain how Mormons finally considered black people to be human as recently as 1964."
"That's old news. He needs to address Obama's refusal to release his college transcripts."
"No, he needs to show how tax cuts for the wealthy will reduce the debt and deficit."
"No, he should demostrate how many jobs were created by job creators during the Bush Era tax cuts."
"No, he needs to discuss how, being unemployed for 6 years makes him an average Joe."

Yeah, Laura Ingraham is a pretty horrible person. Facts and integrity don't matter to her.

As was mentioned above - Romney doing "folksy" is simply not possible. It would be the largest presidential debate fail in history.

Also Reagan had more charisma in a clipped finger nail then the entirety of the Romney campaign.

That says a lot when O'Reilly is the reasonable one.

It's more nuanced than that. Personally I think there are two factors (no pun) here at play:

1) Bill O'Reilly puts on quite a bit because it's television, and it's his job to be a little outrageous sometimes. He's a populist at heart and populisim is a tried and trued method for this kind of entertainment.

2) He is also smart, but lazy. What I mean by this is - he generally will arrive to 80% of a conclusion very quickly, and if that's enough for him to be correct, then great. He just doesn't have the integrity, or flat out desire really, to finish off the remaining 20% to be sure. A lot of people who are "libertarian" or to be succinct, Objectivists, have this problem - their natural state is to identify right/wrong as a binary choice, with no acknowledgement or desire to seek out grey. Because of this, as soon as they can do enough reasoning to arrive at that binary choice, they don't further explore the idea all the way to the end. In this, nuance is often lost.

Personally I think the dude would do really well with a smart co-host who could just argue with him. It'd probably take some time for him to get used to the format, but if he would engage I bet it'd be really informative and entertaining (I think the guy really doesn't use half the brain he was given and is probably capable of a lot more than what he's currently doing).

I'll just leave this here

Some of the conservative hosts prefer a Republican President because they fell it would be good for the country. Others prefer Obama to be President because its great for their ratings.

Ingraham has been a strong critic of Romney's in the past, but on Tuesday, she said she had recently seen him give some "amazing" speeches in New York.

I wonder what's changed?

Ingraham is right, Romney needs to be more like an AM radio star. Moderate voters love that stuff.

There is only One True Elephant among the RHINOs. They will continuously purge themselves of moderating elements until only a single like-minded core of radicals remain.

Hahahahaha... yeah, the problem with Republican regressive tax proposals and reduced health care access is that they need to be more "folksy" about it.

And the Republicans still haven't figured out they elected an actor who did some cowboy movies, not an actual cowboy.
