"Over the past five years, the Eastern District of Virginia has charged more than 120 people with marriage fraud, including both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals."

Wow, 120 in 5 years!

How will this nation survive?

Wonder how many millions was spent on this?

"According to prosecutors, Natallia's husband, Armando, was actually in love with Natallia's oldest son. The two men carried on a romantic relationship, the prosecutors said. And to please Danil, prosecutors claimed Armando agreed to marry Danil's mother so she could live in America

All of this happened, Ivan says, because his sister-in-law got jealous. Danil and Victoria split up. According to court records and interviews, when Victoria found out there was another woman, she went to the authorities and declared the marriage a fraud. She essentially turned herself in, and said her marriage to Danil was fake.."

Well if the two dudes could have gotten married and have it equally recognized by the federal government they wouldn't have had to get faked married.

Damn this story is full of incest.

Too bad they weren't gay... that would have been funny

How can it be a fake marriage if it was a legal marriage?

How would that have kept the woman in the U.S., which was the point of the fake marriage?

There are a lot of ethnic Russians that live in Belarus. I'm fact, I believe that more people in Belarus speak Russian as their native language than Belorussian.

I need a diagram to follow that story.

The part that makes this sound like BS to me is where the accuse of having a homosexual relationship with his step-son. Because teh ghey (is that how you write it on Fark?) is an old standby when it comes to discrediting people the government does not like.

Not really, it said the dudes had a relationship, then the young dude had the old dude marry his mom? It's even hard to type that. Where is the mob involved, that's all I'm concerned with. And with a restaurant or whatnot and all this going on, how does he have time to try to be a Navy surgeon?

It sounds like he's way too crazy/stupid to legitimately stay here, even with all of the extra 'help'.

It's so unbelievable that it might just be true. On the other hand, the prosecutors might have all been stoned one day and tried to come up with the most outlandish story they could pin on some dirty eastern european; every immigrant knows that immigration hearings are a total kangaroo court with everything stacked against you.

True. In soviet days, ethnic Russians were strongly encouraged to move and occupy many of the other republics, but the question is this: are ethnic Russians born and raised in Belarus still Russian or are they Bielorussians ? being somewhat familiar with Russian xenophobia, I think i know how they consider themselves..., but what are they legally ? for example would the US deport them to Minsk or to Moscow ?

Me neither. I wish they'd had a chart or something.

I don't see the part where the wife tells the feds about her cheating husband.
From what I can read, the charged have been made exclusively by the prosecutors and the wife is actually disputing it.
