(TV Guide)   Not interested in the debates tonight? Well, you could watch Supernatural on the CW, A&E has Storage Wars: Texas, the Top Chef All-Stars battle it out on Bravo, and Comedy Central has a South Park marathon. Is this a great country or what?   (tvguide.com) divider line 152

The debates will not be as funny as Suuth Park reruns, but it will be close. What's the line on Obama making Romney melt down?

2012-10-03 08:15:52 AM
Sure, you could watch corporate-sponsored, scripted entertainment, or you could skip the debates and watch something else.

I'm thinking I will go with "biatchin' Kitchen."

There are some critical games in the AL tonight. Oakland and Texas face off for the division and the Yankees and Orioles still have to decide the AL East. Good night to have Extra Innings.

I should love that show: I mean:

But I find her affected faux-New York tough chick accent grating in the extreme, and I'm someone
who doesn't mind Fran Drescher's braying.

She actually grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Quebec, and her parents are Italian. So I think her accent is genuine, although I agree it's grating.

They should combine Storage Wars with the debates. Like, whenever one of them makes a good point, you could have Dave yell, "YUUUUUUUUUUUUP!"

So, is CSPAN streaming the debate tonight? Or anyone?

there's some good baseball action left today, but mostly early games.

This. Baseball. BASEBALL. Game 162 hasn't mattered this much to me in, well, ever, so this should be a fun night.

Maybe "This is the wow factor!" will be Romney's zinger.

It's too bad Comedy Central doesn't televise the debates and use one of John Madden's pens to draw penises on their faces.

I'll be watching MLB hoping for something to happen to the Orioles that gets Harold Reynolds to freak out and run around the studio.

Or, you could do something not involving the TV. Just throwing that out there

2012-10-03 12:09:28 PM
The only reason I'm going to watch the debates is to hear what Gary Johnson has to say.

Sybarite: Do any of those have drinking games?

Yeah, every time they talk about their feelings on Supernatural, but say they don't want to, drink. For all I know, that'll work in the debate, too.

There's always YouTube.

Or I could choose from any of the 40 something movies or shows in my Netflix instant queue. But I may take a look at the debate for a while. YouTube and ABC are doing live internet streaming for the first time tonight.

Im going to watch the debate, but only for the screwups or until they just prattle on their party lines too much. Comedy Central should be show the giant douche/turd sandwich episode of SP over and over.

I remember when anything presiden-related would take up all available channels.

Indeed. I'll be intarwebbing, purposely ignoring the wooden nickels.

No, I'm not interested in the debate to help me decide who is the lesser of two evils.

Is it too much to ask for a candidate I actually want to see in the Oval Office? There hasn't been one since I was allowed to vote.

2012-10-03 12:16:06 PM
I may just listen to the debates on the radio and draw pictures of what they look like in my mind when they are speaking. Although I don't know if I want to sit around drawing pictures of weasels and Pinocchio.

I find it much more entertaining to watch all the talking heads whargargling after it's over, trying to declare who "won".
/and of course, they're all completely objective and unbiased, so you can trust what they say to be totally true

Considering the typical post over in the FARK Politics tab, it's pretty clear that your average Farker will glued to thier TV set tonight.....watching Glee.

Supernatural is actually a really fun show that deserves more than the stigma of being on the CW. And this is coming from someone who never got into all that Buffy/Firefly/Farscape/Gossip Girl shows. This is an actual "good" CW show in my opinion. Lots of gore and funny moments and they avoid the soap opera stuff.

Even if you're truly concerned about the election, the "debates" are devoid of any real substance and a complete waste of time.

I predict we'll see Romney just farking unravel tonight.

They aleady aren't going to win the election, but tonight will be a clarion death knell for his campaign and I think at some point he's going to realize "Holy shiat I'm losing this." and the wheels will come off the bus.

I may be wrong, but it's what I'm going in expecting to see.

If I had comedy central, I'd watch south park. It is probably the only program on that station worth watching.

Since I don't - I'll probably just watch something online.

Any suggestions on the best network to watch the debate on? It looks like all the networks and news stations are carrying it. I'm leaning towards watching on C-SPAN. How's their coverage for this stuff usually?
