AbbeySomeone: We recently replaced our stove. Mr.S put it out in the yard and within 24 hours we had people knocking on the door asking if they could haul it away; same thing happened with our dead water heater.

I replace a fridge one time and set the old one by the road with a "free" sign on it. Sat there for 9 freaking days. So I change the sign to "For sale: $50". It was gone in 24 hours.

Happened to me when I was doing an engine swap in one of my old cars. Mexican dude in a truck full of junk walked in to my garage and asked if I had any scrap I wanted hauled away.

I told him if he carried the old engine block by hand, he could have it.

That sumbish did it, although I imagine his yambag blew out shortly thereafter. My buddy and I just laughed as we watched oil pour all over him as he strained with everything he had to get it to his truck. Only took him about 5 minutes to make the 30 or so feet.

/CSB, but good times.
