I'd put more stock in "4 minute chair exercises combined with proper portions in diet" than "lots of exercise but overeating as well"... as far as losing weight is concerned


Yeah, that assumes that losing weight or "working out" are the point of the exercise; which, in all fairness, seems to be what the article is going for.

But if you're working at a computer all day and you want to avoid farking up your neck, shoulders and back, then a few breaks with certain exercises can be good.
If you work with people who have similar jobs they'll likely have the same problems and know what you're doing or if they don't, you show them.

For example, when a coworker started doing some office exercises her physio had shown her, I knew most of them and had a few more (having had some treatment before plus been dating a physio therapist for years)
The other three 20-something programmers in our office displayed a mildly amused curiosity, but there was no need for embarrassment after they repeated a couple of things that made them hear their own tensed up muscles crack and notice an improvement.

There's the embarrassment of a coworker observing you doing this, then there's the embarrassment of eating it when you realize the hard way that office chairs are designed to roll with minimal encouragement

Might want to use a chair that won't immediately roll away from you, dumping you to the floor.
